Gülbin Su
Gülbin Su (born 7 June 1971) is a Turkish Paralympic archer competing in the women's Compound bow event. Early years Gülbin Su was born to an Arab Alawite family in Samandağ district of Hatay Province on 7 June 1971. She is disabled due to her contraction with poliomyelitis at age of three. She graduated in Job Training from the Faculty of Education at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University. She lives in Reyhanlı, Hatay, where she works as a painting teacher in an elementary school. Sporting career Su began with archery in 2002 by chance while she was waiting at a bus stop. She was contacted by the national team coach, who was passing by. The next day, she accepted the offer. Su debuted internationally in 2006. She competes with compound bow and shoots right-handed. In 2006, she took the silver medal at the 4th EPC Archery Championships held in Nymburk, Czech Republic. Pippa Britton
Pippa Britton is a British retired archer and paralympian. She is currently serving as vice-chair of the Sport Wales board and of the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Life and career Britton was born in either Surrey, England or Newport, Wales. She had Spina bifida since her birth. As a child, Britton was a swimmer and expressed her love for sport. At age 7, she stated she wanted to be a championship swimmer. In the early 1990s, after being encouraged by her husband to take up something new, Britton first got involved with archery as a social activity following a "have a go" session. Britton took a six-week beginner archery course, and felt she "wasn't any good to start with" at the time. She commented how her disability limits which sports are available to her, but felt archery had members that were unceasingly willing to help and two archery clubs, the Neath Archers and Llantarnam Archery, helped her "feel really included". Royal Artillery Barracks, Woolwich, is a barracks of the British Army which forms part of Woolwich Garrison. The Royal Regiment of Artillery had its headquarters here from 1776 until 2007, when it was moved to Larkhill Garrison. History In 1716 two permanent field companies of Artillery (each of a hundred men) were formed by Royal Warrant and placed under the command of the Master-General of the Ordnance.
