Arabs In Romania
Arabs in Romania ( ro, Arabii din România) are people from Arab countries who live in Romania. The first Fellah settlers came in 1831 - 1833 from Ottoman Syria to Dobruja. They assimilated in the Turkish-Tatarian Population. Some of them came to Romania during the Ceaușescu era, when many Arab students were granted scholarships to study in Romanian universities. Most of them were Lebanese, Syrians, Palestinians, Iraqis, Libyans, Egyptians, and Jordanians. Most of these students returned to their countries of origin, but some remained in Romania starting families here. It is estimated that almost half a million Middle Eastern Arabs studied in Romania during the 1980s. A new wave of Arab immigration started after the Romanian Revolution. Bucharest
Bucharest ( , ; ro, București ) is the capital and largest city of Romania, as well as its cultural, industrial, and financial centre. Nicolae Ceaușescu
Nicolae Ceaușescu ( , ; – 25 December 1989) was a Romanian communist politician and dictator. He was the general secretary of the Romanian Communist Party from 1965 to 1989, and the second and last Communist leader of Romania. He was also the country's head of state from 1967, serving as President of the State Council and from 1974 concurrently as President of the Republic, until his overthrow and execution in the Romanian Revolution in December 1989, part of a series of anti-Communist uprisings in Eastern Europe that year. Laura Nureldin
Laura Anca Mariam Nureldin (born 11 October 1979) is a Romanian writer, journalist and news anchor. She is of Sudanese descent through her father. Nureldin studied psychology at Hyperion University in Bucharest, and then worked as a news anchor for several Romanian national television stations. She published several fiction novels. She was born in Iași to a Romanian mother and Sudanese father who studied in Romania during the communist regime. Andrei Ahmed Bani Mustafa ( ar, أندري بني مصطفى; born 22 August 2002) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger for Liga I club Dinamo București. SMURD
SMURD is an emergency rescue service based in Romania. The name is the Romanian acronym for "Serviciul Mobil de Urgență, Reanimare și Descarcerare", which means ''Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication''. It was created and has been coordinated since its inception by doctor Raed Arafat. The first SMURD unit was created in Târgu Mureș, a city in the center of Transylvania, in 1990. Raed Arafat ( ar, رائد عرفات; , first name also spelled Rayed; born May 24, 1964) is a Syrian-born Romanian intensive care physician of Palestinian origin, specialised in anesthesiology.
