The Apostolic Prefecture of Ulaanbaatar () is a Roman Catholic Latin apostolic prefecture (pre-diocesan missionary jurisdiction) located in Mongolia, with its territory consisting of the entire country. Its cathedral episcopal see is the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, in the capital city of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. It is exempt, i.e. directly subject to the Holy See, not part of any ecclesiastical province. On 28 August 2016, the Apostolic Prefecture of Ulaanbaatar celebrated the ordination of the first native Mongolian priest by Msgr. Wenceslao Padilla. Saints Peter And Paul Cathedral (Ulaanbaatar)
The Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Bayanzürkh, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, designed by Serbs, Serbian architect Predrag Stupar and consecrated in 2003 by Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe; its shape resembles that of a yurt. It is the official episcopal see of the Apostolic Prefecture of Ulaanbaatar. Building It has 36 semicircular windows and a window in the skylight. They were added by 2005, and were part of a project of Brother Mark, a member of the Taizé Community. The windows depict the four evangelists in their symbolic forms: an eagle, an angel, a yak and a snow leopard. The latter two are the local reinterpretations of traditional Christian iconography, which replace the traditional winged bull and a winged lion. Inside is a statue of the Virgin Mary, venerated after being discovered in the rubbish in 2013. San Giuda Taddeo Apostolo
The church of San Giuda Taddeo Apostolo is a Catholic place of worship located in the Appio-Latino district of Rome, in via Amedeo Crivellucci. It is also known by its location as San Giuda Taddeo ai Cessati Spiriti after the nearest broad street, the Via Cessati Spiriti. History and description Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara erected a new parish of San Giuda Taddeo on 18 May 1960, entrusting it to the diocesan clergy of Rome. Tharros (also spelled Tharras, , , ''Tárrai/Tárras''; ) was an ancient city and former bishopric on the west coast of Sardinia, Italy. Wenceslao Selga Padilla (29 September 1949 – 25 September 2018) was a Filipino CICM Missionaries, Scheut priest who from 2 August 2003 was the Apostolic prefect of the Apostolic Prefecture of Ulaanbaatar, a pre-diocesan missionary jurisdiction of the Catholic Church, Roman Catholic Church in Mongolia. Biography Born on 29 September 1949 in Tubao, La Union, Philippines, Wenceslao Padilla came from a Catholic family; his father was a catechist. In 1960 he entered the seminary and in 1976 was ordained a priest for CICM Missionaries, Scheut Missionaries. He was a missionary in Taiwan and, for six years, a provincial superior of the Chinese provinces of his Order. When in 1991 Mongolia and the Holy See established diplomatic relations, he was sent as a missionary to Ulaanbaatar, Urga (the old name of Ulanbataar). Parthicopolis () was an ancient city in Sintice region in ancient Thrace and later Macedon. During Byzantine times it was a bishopric seat. Its site is located near modern Sandanski, Bulgaria. An apostolic vicariate is a territorial jurisdiction of the Catholic Church under a titular bishop centered in missionary regions and countries where dioceses or parishes have not yet been established. Everard Ter Laak (; November 5, 1868 – May 5, 1931) was a Dutch Roman Catholic missionary and bishop who worked in China during the late Qing dynasty and early Republic of China. Biography Ter Laak was born on November 5, 1868, in Didam, Montferland, Netherlands, the son of the Miller Jacobus Everardus Ter Laak (1824–1888) and his wife Maria Bernardina van der Grinten (1832–1886). On November 17, 1889, he entered the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. On April 3, 1892, he was ordained a priest within the congregation and went on mission to the Qing Empire.
