The Apostolic Nunciature to Slovakia is an ecclesiastical office of the Catholic Church in Slovakia. It is a diplomatic post of the Holy See, whose representative is called the Apostolic Nuncio with the rank of an ambassador. Mario Giordana
Mario Giordana (born 16 January 1942) is an Italian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from 1976 to 2017. Biography Mario Giordana was born in Barge, in the Italian province of Cuneo, on 16 January 1942. He was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Saluzzo on 25 June 1967. He earned a doctorate in canon law and entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 8 March 1976 and fulfilled assignments in Indonesia, in the offices of the Secretariat of State, in Switzerland, France, Austria and Italy. On 27 April 2004, Pope John Paul II appointed him Titular Archbishop of Minora and Apostolic Nuncio to Haiti. He received his episcopal consecration in the Cathedral of Saluzzo on 29 May from Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Secretary of State. Nicola Girasoli (21 July 1957) is a prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who is Apostolic Nuncio to Slovakia since July 2022. He served as nuncio to Zambia and Malawi from 2006 until 2011 and nuncio to the Antilles and several other Caribbean nations from 2011 to 2017. From 2017 to 2022 he served as nuncio to Peru. Giacomo Guido Ottonello (born 29 August 1946) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who has spent his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He was Apostolic Nuncio to Slovakia from 2017 to 2021 and Nuncio to Ecuador from 2005 to 2017. Biography Giacomo Guido Ottonello was born in Masone, in the Province of Genoa, on 29 August 1946. Henryk Józef Nowacki (born 11 August 1946) is a Polish prelate of the Catholic Church who has spent his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Nowacki was born on 11 August 1946 in Gunzenhausen. He was ordained a priest on 31 May 1970 by Jerzy Karol Ablewicz, Bishop of Tarnów. On 8 February 2001, Pope John Paul II appointed him titular archbishop of Blera and Apostolic Nuncio to Slovakia. He received his episcopal consecration from John Paul II on 19 March.
