Ashtown, Dublin
Ashtown () is a suburb of Dublin, Ireland. It is also a townland in the civil parish of Castleknock and falls largely into the List of Dublin postal districts, postal district of Dublin 15, with some addresses in the Dublin 7 postal district. Ashtown is bounded roughly by the townlands of Castleknock to the west. Finglas to the North, Cabra to the East and the Phoenix Park to the South. The Holy See has long been recognised as a subject of international law and as an active participant in international relations. Emanuele Gerada
Emanuele Gerada KC*HS (18 May 1920 – 21 January 2011) was a Maltese prelate of the Roman Catholic Church, a Vatican diplomat and titular Archbishop of Nomentum. One Maltese obituary recalled him as "a generous, well-read and intelligent man." Biography Gerada was born in Malta and ordained a priest on 1 August 1943 for the Archdiocese of Malta. He studied in Rome for a doctorate in canon law and joined the Vatican's diplomatic service, in which he served for most of his career. He was appointed auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Malta (then to Coadjutor Archbishop in 1968) and titular Bishop of Nomentum on 15 February 1967 and was consecrated on 18 June 1967. Gaetano Alibrandi
Gaetano Alibrandi (14 January 1914 – 3 July 2003) of the Roman Catholic Church was a senior papal diplomat and former Personal Secretary to Giovanni Battista Cardinal Montini (later Pope Paul VI). Biography Born at Castiglione di Sicilia in the Province of Catania, Sicily, Alibrandi was ordained priest on 1 November 1936 and obtained a Doctorate on Divinity from the Pontifical Lateran University and a Doctorate on Civil and Canon Law. Joseph Francis McGeough
Joseph Francis McGeough (29 August 1903 – 12 October 1970) was an American prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Joseph McGeough was born on 29 August 1903 in New York City. He studied at the seminaries of the Archdiocese of New York and at the North American College in Rome. He was ordained a priest there on 20 December 1930. From 1931 to 1938 he did pastoral work in the Bronx and taught at a high school in Katonah, New York. He worked in the Roman Curia at the Congregation for the Oriental Churches from 1938 to 1943. Giuseppe Maria Sensi (27 May 1907 – 26 July 2001) was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who served as a longtime Vatican diplomat. Biography Sensi was born in Cosenza, Italy, on 27 May 1907, the sixth of ten children of a prominent local politician. He was ordained a priest in December 1929 at the age of 22. In preparation for a diplomat's career he completed the course of study at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1931. By 1934 he was working in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Antonio Riberi
Antonio Riberi (15 June 1897 – 16 December 1967) was a Monegasque prelate of the Catholic Church. He served as the fifth apostolic nuncio to Ireland and later as the nuncio to Spain from 1962 until his death. He was elevated to the cardinalate in 1967. Ettore Felici
Ettore Felici (4 March 1881, Segni – 9 May 1951) was the second Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland. Early life Born in Segni on 4 March 1881, Felici was ordained priest in 1903, he began his diplomatic career as a minor official at the Apostolic Nunciature to Serbia in Belgrade. Here he assumed much greater responsibility after Serbia was plunged into war in 1914. As a majority Serbian Orthodox Church at war with Catholic Austria relations were often tense.
