Antoine Clamaran
Antoine Clamaran-Danzelle (; born 8 November 1964) is a French house music producer, DJ and remixer. Clamaran was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine. In the early 1990s, his local fame interested Maximum FM, the leading parisian dance radio station at that time. Impressed by his mixing gift, Clamaran gained a huge audience and started to be booked for one off parties. But Palace headquarters asked him to run the mythical Gay Tea Dance every Sunday, instead of French icon Laurent Garnier. Biography In 1992 Clamaran, eager to get involved into production, teamed up with Laurent Pautrat. Their first Production "I've got music in me" by 400 Hz made him one of the most promising French producers. Released on House Trade Records, this track was licensed by BMG France and sold over 100,000 units. IMO Records
IMO Records is an online retailer of vinyl and electronic dubstep, drum and bass, and hardcore dance music. The firm also sells clothing, DJ equipment and ancillary products. IMO Records was established in 1998 as a mail order business and record shop, now closed, by Jason Robertson, who was better known as DJ Spinback. Robertson was a hardcore disk jockey and music producer from Surrey who was closely associated with the London pirate radio station Dream FM (1994 to 1997/98) which was successful that it was able to host its own rave parties. Robertson also DJ'd on Kiss FM. Today, IMO Records is based in Wimbledon, South London, and is a trading name of Robertson of London Limited, a company incorporated on 20 June 2000. Tea dances are events organized on Sunday afternoons in the US gay community, originating in New York in the 1950s and 1960s. The original dances included tea service. They were a place for singles to meet. The name alludes to traditional tea dances of the English countryside. History It was illegal until the mid-1960s for bars in New York to sell alcohol to people known to be gay, and New York City police would conduct raids on establishments catering to them. Hence, gay men in the area began to hold tea dances outside the city as an alternative venue for meeting. In New York, these generally took place on Fire Island, in Cherry Grove and the Pines, on Sunday afternoons. Serving tea rather than alcohol made them more acceptable and less law-defying. Because they were held in the afternoon, attendees could catch a ferry and return home and be ready to work on Monday morning.
