Anthony Smith (defensive End)
Anthony Wayne Smith (born June 20, 1967) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) and convicted serial killer. He was selected by the Raiders 11th overall in the 1990 NFL draft. He played college football in Arizona and Alabama. NFL career On August 29, 1990, during practice, Smith tore the medial collateral ligament and cartilage in his right knee. The injury caused him to miss his entire rookie season. Following Smith's third season, he signed a four-year contract extension with the Raiders for $7.6 million. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played.
