Anthony Cook (serial Killer)
Anthony Cook (born March 9, 1949) and Nathaniel Cook (born October 25, 1958) are American serial killer brothers who committed a series of at least 9 rapes and murders of mostly couples in Toledo, Ohio, area between 1973 and 1981. Their guilt was established in the late 1990s thanks to DNA profiling, after which both brothers were convicted and sentenced to long terms of imprisonment. Murders and other crimes The killings began in May 1980, when the brothers attacked 24-year-old Thomas Gordon and his 18-year-old girlfriend in north Toledo. They threatened the couple with guns, seized control of their car and held them hostage. The Cooks drove the couple to the woodlands in western Lucas County, where they shot Gordon. The brothers then raped the woman, after which they stabbed her and fled the crime scene. The girl survived, but Gordon died. Anthony Cook (basketball)
Anthony Lacquise Cook (born March 19, 1967) is an American former professional basketball player. After having played collegiately at the University of Arizona, power forward–center Cook was selected by the Phoenix Suns in the first round (24th overall pick) of the 1989 NBA draft, and then traded on draft day to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Micheal Williams and the Pistons' first round draft choice (27th overall pick), Kenny Battle. Cook chose not to join the Pistons, electing to play in Greece instead for P.A.O.K. B.C. He returned to the United States after one season and played in four NBA seasons for the Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks and Portland Trail Blazers, in a career marred by numerous injuries. He had his best season as a rookie in 1990–91, when he appeared in 58 games for the Nuggets and averaged 5.3 ppg and 5.6 rpg. Anthony Lloyd Evans Cook (born 10 August 1989) is an English footballer who plays for Cray Wanderers. Club career Cook made his debut for Dagenham & Redbridge and first professional appearance on 15 December 2007, in the 4–0 defeat away to Shrewsbury Town. Cook featured in the second series of Sky1's reality show Football Icon, where he finished in 4th place after picking up an injury. Shortly after Football Icon he went on trials at Tottenham Hotspur and Cardiff City where he signed for the latter, going on to represent the Bluebirds at reserve and youth team level. He joined Concord Rangers after leaving Dagenham & Redbridge by mutual consent but joined Braintree Town in March 2009. After impressing during pre-season, Cook was signed for Chelmsford City in July 2009. Sir Anthony Cooke (1504 – 11 June 1576) was an English humanist scholar. He was tutor to Edward VI. Family Anthony Cooke was the only son of John Cooke (died 10 October 1516), esquire, of Gidea Hall, Essex, and Alice Saunders (died 1510), daughter and coheiress of William Saunders of Banbury, Oxfordshire by Jane Spencer, daughter of John Spencer, esquire, of Hodnell, Warwickshire. His paternal grandparents were Sir Philip Cooke (died 7 December 1503) and Elizabeth Belknap (died c. 6 March 1504). His paternal great-grandparents were Sir Thomas Cooke, a wealthy member of the Worshipful Company of Drapers and Lord Mayor of London in 1462–3, and Elizabeth Malpas, daughter of Philip Malpas, Master of the Worshipful Company of Drapers and Sheriff of London. In 1949 he went up to Keble College, Oxford as organ scholar. He left in 1953 with his MA, Bachelor of Music and Fellowship of the Royal College of Organists and commenced his teaching career at Highgate School in North London. Anthony Louis Lovel Coke, 6th Earl of Leicester (11 September 1909 – 19 June 1994), was a British peer. Background Coke (pronounced ''Cook'') was the son of the Hon Arthur George Coke and Phyllis Hermione, a daughter of Francis Saxham Elwes Drury (son of The Rev. Henry Drury, Archdeacon of Wilts, and the great-grandson of The Rev. Joseph Drury, D.D., headmaster of Harrow School and teacher of Lord Byron). His father was the second son of Thomas Coke, 3rd Earl of Leicester and was killed in action in 1915 during the First World War. Anthony was educated at Gresham's School, Holt.
