Anthems (Pure Love Album)
''Anthems'' is the debut album by British-American rock band Pure Love, released February 4, 2013. The group formed in 2011 after the departure of lead singer Frank Carter from the hardcore punk band Gallows, after which he began sharing song ideas with Jim Carroll of The Hope Conspiracy and The Suicide File; the two had met when Gallows supported The Hope Conspiracy in 2006. The group signed to Vertigo Records in February 2012 and began working with producer Gil Norton, playing a number of new songs in their debut performance at the NME Awards that February. Prior to ''Anthem'''s release, the band debuted several songs online as music videos and downloads. The album was initially scheduled for release in October 2012 but was delayed to February 2013. Pure Love (band)
Pure Love was an English-American rock band formed in 2011 by former Gallows frontman Frank Carter and ex- The Hope Conspiracy and Suicide File guitarist Jim Carroll, after Carter's departure from Gallows due to "creative differences". The band's musical style was a marked change from the hardcore punk backgrounds of the members. History Frank Carter had made his name in the punk scene with the Hemel Hempstead/Watford-based band Gallows, who were known for their intense live shows. On the back of their success with debut album ''Orchestra of Wolves'', the band signed a £1 million deal with Warner Bros. The deal lasted only 18 months before they were dropped, releasing just one album on the label: 2009's '' Grey Britain''. Carter played his last show with Gallows in August 2011. Hardcore punk (commonly abbreviated to hardcore or hXc) is a punk rock music genre#subtypes, subgenre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. Jared Shavelson
Jared Shavelson is an American drummer from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He attended SUNY where he studied jazz. After two years at Music Conservatory he joined The Hope Conspiracy. In 2006 he joined None More Black and played with Paint It Black. He moved to Los Angeles where he played Digital Daggers and played on the album ''Anthems'' by Pure Love. The ''NME'' Awards is an annual music awards show in the United Kingdom, founded by the music magazine ''NME'' (''New Musical Express''). The first awards show was held in 1953 as the ''NME'' Poll Winners Concerts, shortly after the founding of the magazine. The Suicide File
The Suicide File was an American hardcore punk band from Boston that formed in April 2001. The band wrote songs mostly about social and personal problems. Most of the band's output was released on the Southern California-based hardcore label Indecision Records. The band reunited in June 2006 to embark on their first European Tour. Members of the bands are or have been affiliated with The Hope Conspiracy, Death By StereoWhen Tigers Fight Adamantium, American Nightmare, Clouds, Panic and many more. Most of these are bands with whom Alexander has drummed for short periods of time. The Hope Conspiracy
The Hope Conspiracy is an American hardcore punk band from Boston formed in late 1999. They were picked up by Equal Vision Records and Bridge 9 Records before signing a deal with Deathwish Inc. Biography With the help of Mark Thompson of Tortuga and Hydra Head Records, The Hope Conspiracy headed to Godcity Studios in Norwood, Massachusetts to record their first demo in November 1999. It consisted of three songs ("Escapist", "Divinity Sickness", and "When the Doves Fly"). They produced 1000 copies of the tape, and managed to present 200 copies at their first show with black and white covers (which were quickly made on the way to the gig). Then they produced 800 more color copies of the demo cover based on a design by Aaron Turner. Gallows were an English hardcore punk band from Watford, Hertfordshire. The band was formed in 2004 after Laurent Barnard's previous band disbanded. Gallows' debut album, ''Orchestra of Wolves'', was distributed in the United States by Epitaph Records. The band were subsequently signed to Warner Music Group, Warner Bros. Records for a £1 million album contract, and released their second album ''Grey Britain'' in 2009. Christopher Frank Carter (born 27 April 1984) is an English musician and tattoo artist, who has been a part of the musical groups Gallows, Pure Love and Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes. He currently performs alongside the Sex Pistols. According to ''The Independent''s Nick Hasted, Carter is renowned for his "ferocious live presence" and "confrontational image".
