Annayya (2000 Film)
''Annayya'' () is a 2000 Indian Telugu-language film directed by Muthyala Subbaiah who wrote the film with Bhupati Raja and Satyanand. The film stars Chiranjeevi, Soundarya, Venkat, Ravi Teja, Chandni, Sishwa, Priya and Kota Srinivasa Rao. It has music composed by Mani Sharma with cinematography by Chota K. Naidu. The film is released on 7 January 2000. The film won three state Nandi Awards. It was later dubbed into Tamil as ''Moothavan''. Plot Rajaram, owner of a fleet of lorrie, meets Devi, a garment factory owner. After that acquaintance, she once seeks his help in dealing with two street ruffians, who were teasing her sisters, Latha and Geetha, and is shocked when the culprits turn out to be his brothers, Ravi and Gopi. Rajaram takes the incident lightly as the pranks of youngsters and is very lenient with them. With more such incidents, the two fall in love, with the brothers and sisters not far behind. ''Annayya'' (Kannada: ಅಣ್ಣಯ್ಯ) is a 1993 Indian Kannada-language drama film directed by D. Rajendra Babu. It is a remake of Hindi film ''Beta'' which itself was remade from K. Bhagyaraj's 1987 Tamil film '' Enga Chinna Rasa,'' whose story was inspired by the Kannada novel ''Ardhaangi'' by B. Puttaswamayya which had already been adapted in Kannada in 1969 as '' Mallammana Pavaada''. The film features V. Ravichandran playing the title character along with Madhoo, Aruna Irani, Dheerendra Gopal and Srinath in other prominent roles. The music was composed by Hamsalekha. The film was produced by M. Chandrashekar. The film revolves around a battle of wits b/w a mother-in-law and a wife. Plot Annayya is a story of a person named "Annayya" ( Ravichandran), who is the son of a rich Landlord ( Srinath) and had lost his mother at the time of his birth. Mahakavi Kalidasu
''Mahakavi Kalidasu'' is a 1960 Indian Telugu-language biographical film directed by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao and written by Pingali. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Sriranjani Jr., with music composed by Pendyala. It was produced by K. Nagamani and P. Suri Babu. The film is based on the life of the poet Kalidasa. Plot The film begins in the Avanti kingdom; its King has a daughter, Vidyadhari, an ardent devotee of Goddess Mahakali. Once, a soothsayer predicted she would be the leading woman for a great history. Being cognizant of it, the King decides to espouse his daughter with a glorious poet when Mahamantri Hariharamathyudu expresses his desire to knit the princess with his idiotic son, but the King scorns him. Enraged Mahamantri ploys by forging a retarded Kaaludu as a great scholar and performing the nuptial. Soon after, Vidyadhari realized the truth and lamented before the goddess.
