Marguerite Lazarus, née Jackson (born 1 May 1916 in Durham, England – d. 24 September 2004 in North Yorkshire, England) was a British writer. She started writing children's fiction as Marguerite J. Gascoigne, and later romance novels under the pseudonym of Anna Gilbert. Her novel ''The Look of Innocence '' won in 1976 the Romantic Novel of the Year Award by the Romantic Novelists' Association. Anna Elizabeth Gilbert is an American singer-songwriter born in Eugene, Oregon, USA. She was the 2007 and 2009 winner of the "Inspirational Artist of the Year" award for the National Momentum Awards on Indieheaven.com in Nashville, Tennessee. She self-produced her first two albums with music and lyrics that she wrote herself. Her third album was produced with Charlie Peacock in Nashville at The Art House and is licensed by BMI. Her fourth musical project was an EP titled ''Like a River'', produced by Sam Ashworth was also made at The Art House. In 2010, Gilbert became ''Eugene Weeklys "Next Big Thing" – a contest which includes votes by the public and a panel of judges. Joseph Gilbert (winemaker)
Joseph Gilbert (1800 – 23 December 1881) was a Pastoralism, pastoralist and winemaker in South Australia from 1839 until his death. Gilbert was born in Puckshipton, Wiltshire, England, in the Vale of Pewsey. The second of four sons, his father was Joseph Gilbert and his mother, Jane (née Pike). He studied at Marlborough College in Wiltshire and learnt about vine-growing and winemaking on the European mainland. He migrated to South Australia in 1839 on the ''Buckinghamshire'' and immediately erected his prefabricated two-roomed Manning cottage on an Adelaide allotment. He acquired a property on the South Para River and stocked it with sheep purchased from Tasmania, Van Diemen's Land. He later moved his flock to a selection near Lyndoch, South Australia, Lyndoch, which he named "Pewsey Vale" and developed into an ideal country home. Andrew Cowan (September 29, 1841 – August 23, 1919) served as a Union artillerist in the American Civil War. He distinguished himself at the Battle of Gettysburg and the Battle of Sayler's Creek. Subsequently, he "amassed a fortune in the leather industry and used that wealth in a variety of philanthropic activities. In addition, he was a prominent force in healing the wounds between the North and South and bringing peace to a fractured nation." Pre-War Andrew Cowan was born in Ayrshire, Scotland on September 29, 1841, and he migrated to the United States as a boy. He married his first wife, Mary Asdit, in upper New York State on February 23, 1864. She bore a son, Albert Andrew Cowan, in August 1867 but she died the following month, most likely from complications from childbirth. ''Whizziwig'' is a science fiction children's programme broadcast on CITV between 7 January 1998 and 16 February 2000 based on the books by award winning children's author Malorie Blackman. Plot summary Whizziwig centres on the adventures of a boy called Ben and his best friend Steve who befriend a small pink alien approximately the size of a rugby ball, whose ship crash lands on the roof of Steve's home during her interplanetary travel to visit relatives and which now needs repairing. Whizziwig has the ability to grant wishes to anyone who utters the words "I wish...", however wishes had to be made for someone else and would last a maximum of 24 hours. A recurring theme is Ben and Steve trying to deceive their friend into granting their intentional wishes only for the alien to become wise to the scheme.
