in Chortkiv, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian journalist. She is a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (1986) and the Chortkiv branch of the Union of Ukrainian Women (1989).


Biography

Blazhenko became interested in journalism at the age of fifteen. During her school years she was actively published in the district newspaper ''Zoria Komunizmu'' and in the regional youth newspaper ''Rovesnyk''. Chortkiv ( uk, Чортків; pl, Czortków; yi, ''Chortkov'') is a city in Chortkiv Raion, Ternopil Oblast (province) in western Ukraine. The Honored Journalist (also translated as The Merited Journalist of Ukraine, uk, Заслужений журналіст України) is an honorary title bestowed by Ukraine (before 1991 by the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic or SSR) for "vital contribution" in the country's journalism. The title is awarded by the President of Ukraine and accompanied by a silver badge. History The honorary title was established by the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR on May 7, 1981.
