Sports Manga
is a genre of Japanese manga and anime that focuses on stories involving sports and other athletic and competitive pursuits. Kyoto Animation Arson Attack
The occurred at Kyoto Animation's Studio 1 building in the Fushimi ward of Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, on the morning of 18 July 2019. The arson killed people, injured an additional 34 (including the suspect), and destroyed most of the materials and computers in Studio 1. It is one of the deadliest massacres in Japan since the end of World War II, the deadliest building fire in Japan since the 2001 Myojo 56 building fire, and the first massacre ever to have occurred at a studio associated with an entertainment company, and the animation industry. The suspect, who did not work for the studio, entered the front door carrying about of gasoline and doused the area and several employees before igniting it. Goalball
Goalball is a team sport designed specifically for athletes with a vision impairment. Participants compete in teams of three, and try to throw a ball that has bells embedded inside of it into the opponents' goal. The ball is thrown by hand and never kicked. Using ear-hand coordination, originating as a rehabilitation exercise, the sport has no able-bodied equivalent. Able-bodied athletes are also blindfolded when playing this sport. Played indoors, usually on a volleyball court, games consist of twelve-minute halves (formerly ten-minute halves) with three-minute half-time. is a Japanese singer and songwriter. Her song "Sabrina" was used as the third ending song of the anime television series ''Toriko'' and her song "Silly" was used as the theme song for the television adaption of popular novel "Nのために" ("For N"). Her stage name comes from the movie '' Léon: The Professional'', and also comes from Leo of ''Kimba the White Lion'' because her eyes resemble a lion. Baby Steps
is a Japanese manga series by Hikaru Katsuki. It was serialized in Kodansha's ''Weekly Shōnen Magazine'' from October 2007 to November 2017, with its chapters collected in forty-seven ''tankōbon'' volumes. The story is centered on Eiichirō Maruo, a first year honor student who one day decides that he is lacking exercise. He then joins the Southern Tennis Club (STC) where he begins his tennis journey. The manga was adapted into a twenty-five episode anime television series by studio Pierrot, which was broadcast on NHK-E from April to September 2014. Shingo Kunieda
is a Japanese wheelchair tennis player. He is the current world No. 1 in singles. With four Paralympic gold medals, 28 major singles titles – an all-time record in singles of any tennis discipline – and 50 major titles overall, Kunieda is widely considered the greatest male wheelchair player of all time. Kunieda was the ITF World Champion from 2007 to 2010. He was also the year-end No. 1 in doubles in 2007. Wheelchair Tennis
Wheelchair tennis is one of the forms of tennis adapted for wheelchair users. The size of the court, net height and rackets are the same, but there are two major differences from pedestrian tennis: athletes use specially designed wheelchairs, and the ball may bounce up to two times, where the second bounce may also occur outside the court. Wheelchair tennis has been played at all four Grand Slams since 2007, and is one of the sports contested at the Summer Paralympics. There are three categories, Men, Women, and Quads; each category has singles and doubles tournaments. The Quad, the newest division, is for players that have substantial loss of function in at least one upper limb, but may include various disabilities besides quadriplegia. Eisaku Kubonouchi
is a Japanese manga artist and character designer. Biography Kubonouchi made his professional career debut in 1986 with the short story ''Okappiki Eiji'' published in the manga magazine ''Shōnen Sunday''. From 1988 to 1991, he worked on his first series, ''Tsurumoku Dokushin Ryō'', which was in 1991 made into a movie with Kōyō Maeda (:ja:前田耕陽, ja) in the leading role. Para-athletics is the sport of athletics practised by people with a disability as a parasport. The athletics events within the parasport are mostly the same as those available to able-bodied people, with two major exceptions in wheelchair racing and the club throw, which are specific to the division.
