Angus Football Club was an association football club from Forfar in Scotland. Although it was entirely unsuccessful as a club, it was instrumental in the formation of Forfar Athletic. History The club was founded in 1880. Although the first club senior club in the town, it remained a small outfit for the first half of its existence; with 25 members in 1882, it was still the smallest senior club in Forfarshire. Angus first entered the Scottish Cup in 1882–83, losing at home to Balgay 1–0, a second Balgay goal not being allowed as the goalposts had been knocked down in the struggle around the ball. A one-goal defeat was Angus' best result in the competition. In 1883–84 the club went down 9–0 at the strong Dundee Harp side, and in the following season 5–1 at home to Dundee Strathmore. Partick Thistle
Partick Thistle Football Club are a professional football club from Glasgow, Scotland. Despite their name, the club are based at Firhill Stadium in the Maryhill area of the city, and have not played in Partick since 1908. The club have been members of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) since its formation in 2013. In the 2020–21 season, Thistle won Scottish League One, the third tier of the SPFL structure, and returned to the Scottish Championship, having been relegated from there in 2019–20. Station Park, Forfar
Station Park is a football ground in Forfar, Angus, Scotland. It is home to Scottish Professional Football League side Forfar Athletic and to Forfar Farmington of the Scottish Women's Premier League. Station Park is one of a number of old fashioned football grounds left in the Scottish League. It has a capacity of although this has previously been much higher. The record crowd is 10,780 against Rangers in 1970. The total has been reduced for safety reasons. The ground allows access to all four sides of the pitch. There is one large terrace behind the goal at the western end of the ground. Forfar railway station served the town of Forfar, Angus, Scotland from 1848 to 1967 on the Scottish Midland Junction Railway. The 1885–86 Scottish Cup was the 13th season of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. Queen's Park won the competition for the eighth time after they beat defending champions Renton 3–1 in the final. Arbroath set a world record in the first round when they defeated Bon Accord 36–0 on 12 September 1885.
