Andrew Freeman (inventor)
Andrew Freeman (March 10, 1909 – January 17, 1996) was an American electrical engineer and the inventor of the electric block heater for automobiles. Andrew L. Freeman was born in Upham, North Dakota. He attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota, where he majored in electrical engineering. He served as general manager of Minnkota Power Cooperative from 1940 to 1982. Since 2004, Minnkota Power Cooperative, Inc. has sponsored the Andrew Freeman Design Innovation Competition at the University of North Dakota College of Engineering and Mines. Freeman first developed a block heater around 1947, and received U.S. Patent #2487326 on November 8, 1949. Andrew Freeman (musician)
Andrew Freeman is an American rock singer who has played for a number of bands, most notably punk rock group the Offspring and hard rock guitarist George Lynch's Lynch Mob. Freeman is currently the frontman for the hard rock supergroup Last in Line. Career Freeman was the guitarist and co-songwriter/producer for the Massachusetts band Thirty Stones, whose album ''Canvas'', produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, peaked at number 5 on ''FMQB's Metal Detector'' and ''CMJ Crucial Spins''. The band performed more than 250 concerts in 2003, appearing with bands such as Sevendust, Staind, Shadows Fall, Powerman 5000, Dope, Nonpoint, Hed PE, and Lacuna Coil, among others. Thirty Stones were also featured on several compilation CDs released by Cleopatra Records. The band reformed at the end of 2010, appearing on the cover of '' The Valley Advocate'' and performing a few shows in Massachusetts and California. Andrew Freedman
Andrew Freedman (September 1, 1860 – December 4, 1915) was an American businessman who is primarily remembered as the owner of the New York Giants professional baseball team of the National League from 1895 to 1902. He also briefly owned the Baltimore Orioles of the American League in 1902; the franchise would later relocate, and became the New York Yankees. Freedman was also a director of various companies, including the Interborough Rapid Transit Company and the Wright Company. He was born and died in New York City.
