Andre Matos
Andre Coelho Matos (; 14 September 1971 – 8 June 2019) was a Brazilian singer and musician. He was involved in the heavy metal bands Viper, Angra, Shaman and Symfonia. Since 2006, Matos had been dedicating his time to his solo career. In 2012, he was ranked No. 77 at the list of 100 Greatest Voices of Brazilian Music by ''Rolling Stone Brasil''. Biography Viper, Angra and Shaman Matos grew up in his hometown of São Paulo. He began his musical education at the age of 10, when he received his first piano from his parents. As a teen, he would gather with his friends to listen to their favorite bands. Soon they began learning to play music too, and Matos joined his first band, Viper. Kiko Loureiro
Pedro Henrique "Kiko" Loureiro (; born 16 June 1972) is a Brazilian guitarist. He has been a member of several heavy metal bands, including Angra and Megadeth. Career Loureiro began studying music and playing acoustic guitar at age 11. He studied with two famous Brazilian musicians: Pedro Bueno and Mozart Mello. Inspired by various artists, including Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, and Randy Rhoads, he moved to the electric guitar at 13 and by 16 had already joined two bands, Legalize (with Edu Mello on vocals, Dennis Belik on bass and Alja on drums) and A Chave, and was playing in nightclubs in São Paulo. At 19, he co-founded Brazilian power metal band Angra. Due to the increase in popularity of power metal, Loureiro has become quite successful, both playing in Angra and as a solo artist. Rafael Bittencourt
Angra is a Brazilian power metal and progressive metal band formed in 1991. They have released ten regular studio albums, six EPs, and seven live CD/DVDs to date. Led by Rafael Bittencourt, the band has gained a degree of popularity in Japan and Europe. On 2 April 2015, guitarist Kiko Loureiro left Angra to join American thrash metal band Megadeth. Ricardo Confessori
Ricardo Confessori (born January 25, 1969) is a Brazilian drummer and a former member of the Brazilian power metal band Angra. After leaving the Brazilian thrash metal band Korzus, Confessori was invited for assume the post of drummer of Angra, after the recording of the album '' Angels Cry''. In 2000, Confessori left Angra with singer Andre Matos and bassist Luis Mariutti to form the band Shaman together with guitarist Hugo Mariutti. Shaman released three albums with this line-up: ''Ritual'' (2002); '' RituAlive'' (live album, released in CD and DVD in 2003); and ''Reason'', in 2005. After the second album, Confessori and Matos had some creative differences. Confessori owned the Shaman name resulting in the other members leaving the band. Helloween
Helloween is a German power metal band founded in 1984 in Hamburg by members of bands Iron Fist, Gentry, Second Hell and Powerfool. The band has at times been called one of the most influential European heavy metal bands of the 1980s. Its first lineup consisted of singer and guitarist Kai Hansen, bassist Markus Grosskopf, guitarist Michael Weikath and drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg. By the time Hansen left Helloween in 1989 to form Gamma Ray (band), Gamma Ray, the band had evolved into a five-piece, with Michael Kiske taking over as lead vocalist. Schwichtenberg and Kiske both parted ways with Helloween in 1993; Schwichtenberg died two years later as the result of suicide. ''Fireworks'' is the third studio album by the heavy metal band Angra. It was released in 1998 on Lucretia Records. It was their last album to feature Andre Matos on vocals and Luís Mariutti on bass, and the last to feature drummer Ricardo Confessori until ''Aqua'' in 2010. Background According to guitarist Kiko Loureiro, vocalist Andre Matos had decided to leave Angra right after the ''Holy Live'' tour to work on his solo project ''Virgo'' (a collaboration with Sascha Paeth), and the band had started to rehearse with Edu Falaschi as his probable replacement. However, a French executive from the record company talked to them over dinner to help patch their differences. ''Holy Land'' is the second album by Brazilian metal band Angra. It is a concept album whose theme is centered on the Brazilian land by the time it was discovered in the 16th century from a European perspective, as depicted in the art surrounding the album release. Once fully opened, the cover illustration turns out to be an old 15th-century map. After adopting a more European sound on their debut album Angels Cry due to the influence of producer Charlie Bauerfeind, Holy Land takes a more Brazilian approach, mixing Afro-Brazilian rhythms with classical music and traditional heavy metal. ''Angels Cry'' is the debut album of Brazilian metal band Angra. It was released in 1993 and recorded in Germany at Kai Hansen's studios in Hamburg. The opening track is a short rendition of the first movement of Franz Schubert's " Symphony No. 8", commonly known as his "Unfinished Symphony". In addition, the title track features a brief arrangement of " Caprice no. 24" by Niccolò Paganini, whereas "Evil Warning" features a brief arrangement of "Winter" by Antonio Vivaldi. The opening of the track "Never Understand" features a brief arrangement of the song " Asa Branca" by Luiz Gonzaga. Bruce Dickinson
Paul Bruce Dickinson (born 7 August 1958) is an English singer who is best known as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. Dickinson has performed in the band across two stints, from 1981 to 1993 and from 1999 to the present day. He is known for his wide-ranging operatic vocal style and energetic stage presence.
