An Officer And A Car Salesman
''An Officer and a Car Salesman'' is a comedy/thriller television film made in 1988 as a spin-off from the successful television series ''Minder''. It was first broadcast on 26 December (Boxing Day) 1988. It falls between Series 6 and Series 7 of Minder, but, like '' Minder on the Orient Express'', which preceded it, it follows a stand-alone storyline. It was the last appearance of Patrick Malahide as Chisholm. Plot Terry has been convicted of receiving stolen goods – actually stored in his flat by Arthur – and emerges from prison after serving 16 months, determined to have nothing further to do with Arthur. Meanwhile, Arthur has done well for himself, operating a large warehouse and import/export operation, employing several staff and driving a Rolls-Royce. Roy Ward Baker
Roy Ward Baker (born Roy Horace Baker; 19 December 1916 – 5 October 2010) was an English film director. He was known professionally as Roy Baker until 1967, when he adopted Roy Ward Baker as his screen credit. Early life Baker was born in Hornsey, London, where his father was a Billingsgate Fish Market, Billingsgate wholesale fish merchant. He was educated at a Lycée in Rouen, France, and at the City of London School. Career Baker's first job, in 1933 aged 17, was in the mail room at the Columbia Graphophone Company, Columbia Gramophone Company. Glyn Edwards
John Glynn Edwards (2 February 1931 – 23 May 2018) was a British actor who worked in television and films. He came to national prominence for his portrayal of the barman Dave Harris in the television comedy drama series ''Minder'' (1979—1994). Early life Edwards was born in Penang, Peninsular Malaysia, on 2 February 1931. His father, who spent little time with his son, was a rubber planter at the time of his birth and died in 1946. His mother died when he was very young, and he was brought up firstly by his grandparents in Southsea, Hampshire, and then by his father and stepmother, in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Clive Walter Swift (9 February 1936 – 1 February 2019) was an English actor and songwriter. A classically trained actor, his stage work included performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company, but he was best known to television viewers for his role as Richard Bucket in the BBC sitcom ''Keeping Up Appearances''. Biography Childs was born at Eastbourne, East Sussex, on 31 August 1939, and was educated at the local grammar school before training to be an actor.
