Ammar Abdulhamid
Ammar Abdulhamid (; born 30 May 1966) is a Syrian-born author, human rights activist, political dissident, co-founder and president of the Tharwa Foundation. Ammar was featured in the Arabic version of ''Newsweek'' magazine as one of 43 people making a difference in the Arab world in May 2005. Career Early life Abdulhamid was born on 30 May 1966, to Syrian actress Muna Wassef and the late Syrian filmmaker Muhammad Shahin in Damascus, Syria. By mid-1987, Ammar embraced the religion of his father, Islam and was a committed Sunni Muslim. He told he had the intention of flying to Afghanistan via Pakistan to join the Mujahideen and fight in the Soviet–Afghan War but decided against it once he found out that after the Soviet withdrawal, the Mujahideen were fighting each other. Ammar Campa-Najjar
Ammar Campa-Najjar (born February 24, 1989) is a United States naval officer and former official at the United States Department of Labor. Campa-Najjar has twice been a candidate for the United States House of Representatives. He secured 48.3 percent of the vote in the 2018 election against incumbent Duncan D. Hunter. Campa-Najjar lost again in a 2020 campaign to represent California's 50th congressional district, which encompassed the northeastern segments of San Diego County, and a small section of Riverside County. Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi (; born 1969) is the Crown Prince of Ajman, one of the United Arab Emirates, and chairman of the Ajman Executive Council. Biography Ammar bin Humaid was born in 1969. Dr Ammar Al-Qurabi (; born 21 August 1970) is a Syrian human rights activist and executive director of the National Organization for Human Rights in Syria since April 2006. He was elected in April 2011 as member of the board of trustees of the Arab Human Rights Organization in Syria. Ammar Ismail Yahia Ibrahim (born 18 September 1996) is a Qatari sprinter. He is the 2022 GCC Games, 2023 West Asian Athletics Championships, and 2023 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships gold medalist in the 400 metres. Biography Ibrahim's first international competition was at the 2020 Turkish Athletics Championships, where he placed third in the 400 m but was not eligible for awards as a foreign national. Ammar ibn Yasir (; July 657 C.E.) was a ''Sahabi'' (Companion) of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and a commander in the early Muslim conquests. His parents, Sumayya and Yasir ibn Amir, were the first martyrs of the Ummah. Ammar converted to Islam by the invitation of Abu Bakr and was amongst the . Al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAmmār al-Kalbī, usually called simply Ibn Ammar in the Arabic sources, was an Arab commander for the Fatimid Caliphate. A member of the Kalbid family, he was active in the wars with the Byzantine Empire in Sicily in the 960s, leading the capture of Taormina and Rometta, which completed the Muslim conquest of Sicily. Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn ʿAmmār ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAmmār al-Quḍā'ī (;1031–1086), known as Ibn Ammar, in Spanish sources found as Abenámar, was an Arab poet from Silves. Rachid Ammar
Rachid Ammar, or Rchid Ammar () (born 1947 or 1948) was the chief of staff of the Tunisian Armed Forces. He is perhaps best known for his refusal to fire on protestors during the 2011 Tunisian Revolution. He has been described as "the first post-2011 icon in Tunisia."
