Amelia Solar De Claro
Amelia Solar de Claro (October 11, 1836 - November 21, 1915) was a Chilean poet, playwright, and essayist. Biography Maria Amelia de las Mercedes Solar was the daughter of José María del Solar Marín and Mercedes Marín del Solar, the first Chilean poet and intellectual. She married José Luis Claro y Cruz, the promoter and one of the founders of the Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago, with whom she had four children, among them the jurist Luis Claro Solar and the deputy Raúl Claro Solar. She is recognized for having written and published one of the first dramatic texts of Chilean children's literature: ''María Cenicienta: comedia en 3 actos i en verso'' (María Cinderella: comedy in 3 acts and verse), a comic work that was performed in Valparaíso Valparaíso (; ) is a major city, seaport, naval base, and educational centre in the commune of Valparaíso, Chile. Cuerpo De Bomberos De Santiago
The Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago (CBS) provides fire protection, technical rescue services and hazardous materials response for the comunas of Santiago, Estación Central, Renca, Recoleta (Southern portion), Independencia, Providencia, Las Condes, Vitacura and Lo Barnechea, in Santiago de Chile. The fire department consists of 22 companies, which makes it the largest in Chile. It was established on 20 December 1863. Like all fire departments in Chile, it is a volunteer agency. History The Church of the Company Fire prompted the creation of an organized fire protection service in Santiago. Luis Claro Solar
Luis Claro Solar (January 20, 1857 – July 19, 1945) was a distinguished Chilean lawyer, politician and jurist. He was a Senator of the Republic of Chile and President of the Senate. His magnum opus was the treatise ''Explicaciones del Derecho Civil Chileno y Comparado'' (Explications of the Chilean and Comparate Law) consisting of fifteen tomes. He also was a member of the Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago (Santiago's Fire Brigade), becoming superintendent. His firsts studies were cursed in the Instituto Nacional, where he was admitted in 1870, being rector of that institution don Diego Barros Arana. Quiteria ( es, Quiteria; ca, Quitèria; oc, Quiteira; french: Quitterie; pt, Quitéria) was a second-century virgin martyr and saint about whom nothing is certain except her name and her cult. She appears in the ''Roman Martyrology'', but not in any other ancient calendars (such as the ''Martyrologium Hieronymianum''). Name ''Quiteria'' may be derived from ''Kythere'' (or ''Kyteria'', ''Kuteria''), a title applied to the Phoenician goddess Astarte which meant "the red one", or from (the possibly related name) ''Cytherea'', an epithet of the Greek goddess Aphrodite because she was born on the island of Kythira. Legend She is said to have been born in Bracara (now Braga, Portugal) to Lucius Catilius Serves, Roman governor of Gallaecia and Lusitania, and Calcia, his wife.
