Zulu people (; ) are a native people of Southern Africa of the Nguni people, Nguni. The Zulu people are the largest Ethnic groups in South Africa, ethnic group and nation in South Africa, living mainly in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. They originated from Nguni communities who took part in the Bantu migrations over millennia. As the clans integrated, the rulership of Shaka brought success to the Zulu nation due to his improved military tactics and organization. Amazulu FC (Zimbabwe)
Amazulu FC was a football club based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The club played in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. The team was founded in 1996 by Charles Mhlauri and after nine years the club was dissolved. In 2003 the team has won the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. Amazulu (band)
Amazulu were a British reggae/ ska/ pop band from the 1980s comprising five women and one man. They achieved success in the UK charts with four top-20 hits, the biggest being " Too Good to Be Forgotten" in 1986. Career Early days and success The name Amazulu is taken from the Zulu language word for the Zulu people. They originally wanted to be named Amazon but an American rock band already had the name. The name Amazulu came about when Sharon Bailey and Lesley Beach went to see a South African play by the same name and met the playwright, who gave his permission to use the name. The band was started by Bailey, the band's original manager, and Lesley, the saxophone player, together with Rose Miner, the original lead singer. With Debbie Dread joining on drums, initially all the members were female. ''Amazulu'' is the debut studio album of South African singer Amanda Black. It was released on 11 November 2016 through Ambitiouz Entertainment with music production credits from Christer, Ruff, Vuyo Manyike and Lunatik; and additional songwriting credits from Jabulani Makhubo, Christer Kobedi and Sizwe Thabethe. The 14-track album was nominated in five categories each at the 2016 Metro FM Music Awards and at the 23rd edition of the South African Music Awards. Commercial performance The album was certified platinum three weeks after its release which led Ngwako Malatji of '' Sunday World'' to name Amanda Black as "the new queen of ballads". "Amazulu" is the debut single by South African singer Amanda Black, released on 1 July 2016. The song is credited to have been instrumental in the upward trajectory of her career following its massive reception which saw it gain rotational nationwide airplay and downloaded over 53,000 times. Composition When asked about what the song is about, Amanda Black had this to say: "Amazulu is a journey song in a nutshell. It is a relationship between me and my music and where I want it be, from the disappointment of '' Idols'' to being told I wasn't good enough. When I came to Joburg, the only person I knew was my cousin and it was hard as I felt like I wasn't good enough, I had so many doors closed in my face."
