Amadea Palaiologina Of Monferrato
Amadea Palaiologina of Monferrato (1418–1440), was a queen consort of Cyprus, wife of king John II of Cyprus. Amadea was the daughter of John Jacob, Marquess of Montferrat and Joanna of Savoy, daughter of Amadeus VII, Count of Savoy. On 3 July 1440, Amadea was married to John II of Cyprus, son of Janus of Cyprus and the second wife Charlotte of Bourbon, Queen of Cyprus, Charlotte of Bourbon and crowned queen. The wedding was celebrated by proxy in 1437, the bride arrived in Cyprus in June 1440. The marriage was the result of interest in the Eastern Mediterranean Paleologi. Upon the marriage by proxy in 1437, Amedea became queen consort of Cyprus, Jerusalem and Armenia. The coronation took place in the church of Hagia Sophia in Nicosia on 3 July 1440. Amadea was queen consort only for a short duration; she died suddenly two months after the marriage, she had no children. The Principality of Reuss-Gera (), officially called the Principality of the Reuss Junior Line () after 1848, was a sovereign state in modern Germany, ruled by members of the House of Reuss. Anthony Freskyn Charles Hamby Chaplin, 3rd Viscount Chaplin (14 December 1906 – 18 December 1981) was a British hereditary peer and an amateur zoologist and musician. Biography Born in 1906, Chaplin was the son of Eric Chaplin, 2nd Viscount Chaplin, and the Hon Gwladys Wilson, daughter of Charles Wilson, 1st Baron Nunburnholme and Florence Wellesley. He was educated at Radley College. During 1935 and 1936, Chaplin went on a zoological expedition to New Guinea. He was Secretary of the Zoological Society of London between 1952 and 1955, and a member of its Council. Chaplin studied musical composition in Paris with Nadia Boulanger between 1936 and 1939.
