Almaz
The Almaz () program was a highly secret Soviet Union, Soviet military space station program, begun in the early 1960s. Three crewed military reconnaissance stations were launched between 1973 and 1976: Salyut 2, Salyut 3 and Salyut 5. To cover the military nature of the program, the three launched Almaz stations were designated as civilian Salyut programme, Salyut space stations. Salyut 2 failed shortly after achieving orbit, but Salyut 3 and Salyut 5 both conducted successful crewed testing. Following Salyut 5, the Ministry of Defense (Soviet Union), Soviet Ministry of Defense judged in 1978 that the time and resources consumed by station maintenance outweighed the benefits relative to automatic reconnaissance satellites. Still, it had some achievements along with the Salyut program, the heritage of the twin program continues, with the International Space Station module Zarya (ISS module), Zarya being one example. ''Almaz'' (; "Diamond") was a 2nd-class cruiser in the Imperial Russian Navy, built by Baltic Shipyard in Saint Petersburg, Russia, as a yacht for Viceroy Yevgeni Alekseyev. Construction ''Almaz'' had her first keel plate laid down at the Baltic Shipyard on 25 September 1902, in the presence of Tsar Nicholai II, Grand Duke Konstantin and King George I of Greece. ''Yantar'' (Янтарь) is a special purpose intelligence collection ship built for the Russian Navy. The ship has been operated by the Russian Navy's Main Directorate of Underwater Research (GUGI) since 2015 and is reportedly a spy ship. The vessel's home port is Severomorsk, where it is attached to the Northern Fleet. "Almaz" is a single by American female soul singer Randy Crawford, which was recorded in 1986. The song reached number four in the UK Singles Chart. "Almaz" is one of the few songs Randy Crawford has written by herself, and the first of her own compositions that was released as a single. Composition "Almaz" was written about a couple of Eritrean refugees who were neighbors of Crawford's. The man asked Crawford to write a song about his wife, who was named Almaz (which means "diamond" in Tigrinya, Amharic, Arabic and a number of other languages). In the song, the singer reflects on their rare form of love. In Crawford's own words, "I witnessed this perfect love affair between them, although she was considerably younger than him. Ahmet Almaz is a Turkish journalist, translator, and non-fiction writer. Almaz was born in Anamur. He attended school in Konya, Ceyhan, Karaman and Anamur. He went to university in 1993, publishing his first work, The Birth of Stars (prepared with Dr. Ahmet Gül), in 1997 through Gonca Publishing. In 2002 Almaz carried out research for the Foreign Affairs department of the newly formed Ak Party. The Baojun 530 () is a two- or three-row compact crossover SUV produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) through the Baojun brand.
