Alliance For Albanians
The Alliance for the Albanians (, ASH; , AA) is a centre-right political party founded in 2015 in North Macedonia by Ziadin Sela. The party has as its main goal the achievement of the full national equality between Albanians and Macedonians in all fields, from investments, to institutional representation, fair access to state institutions, employment, infrastructure and increase of the level of national awareness. Well aware of the many challenges faced by North Macedonia society in a prolonged socio- economic transition, the Alliance for the Albanians strives for and believes in a multi-ethnic, European, democratic and social governance model that can and should guarantee a better life for all citizens, as a precondition for sustainable economic development and political stability. Arben Taravari
Arben Taravari (; born 9 April 1973) is a Macedonian doctor and politician. He was elected mayor of Gostivar Municipality in 2017. He served as Minister of Health in 2017, and 2024 to 2025. A member of the Alliance for Albanians, he came fifth of seven candidates in the 2024 North Macedonian presidential election. Biography Born in Gostivar, SFR Yugoslavia, Taravari graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje in 1998. He completed his specialisms in neurology (2006) and family medicine (2011). Since 2010 he is a lecturer at his ''alma mater'', and in 2011 he defended his thesis on Parkinson's disease. Macedonians ( ) are a nation and a South Slavic ethnic group native to the region of Macedonia in Southeast Europe. They speak Macedonian, a South Slavic language. The large majority of Macedonians identify as Eastern Orthodox Christians, who share a cultural and historical "Orthodox Byzantine–Slavic heritage" with their neighbours. About two-thirds of all ethnic Macedonians live in North Macedonia; there are also communities in a number of other countries. 2024 North Macedonian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in North Macedonia on 24 April 2024. Incumbent Stevo Pendarovski of the ruling centre-left Social Democratic Union of Macedonia, Social Democrats ran for re-election to a second term. No candidate received a majority of votes in the first round, with right-wing challenger Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova placing first by a wide margin with 41% of the vote, while Pendarovski finished second with 20% of the vote. The two faced off in the second round run-off on 8 May, which was held alongside 2024 North Macedonian parliamentary election, parliamentary elections. Gostivar ( ; sq-definite, Gostivari) is a city in North Macedonia, located in the upper Polog valley region. It is the seat of one of the larger municipalities in the country with a population of 59,770, and the town also covers . Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova
Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova ( born 11 May 1953) is a Macedonian university law professor and jurist serving as the president of North Macedonia since May 2024. She was a candidate for the 2019 presidential elections, losing to Stevo Pendarovski in the runoff. Stevo Pendarovski
Stevo Pendarovski (, ; born 3 April 1963) is a Macedonian politician who served as the President of North Macedonia from 2019 to 2024. Early life and education Stevo Pendarovski was born on 3 April 1963 in Skopje. His family originates from Galičnik. He grew up in post-earthquake Skopje. His parents were teachers. Blerim Reka
Blerim Reka () is an ethnic Albanian academic from North Macedonia. He is currently the Minister of European Integration of Kosovo. He ran as an independent presidential candidate in the 2019 North Macedonia presidential election and is also an author, professor and former ambassador. Biography Blerim H.
