Bulo Marer Hostage Rescue Attempt
On 11 January 2013, the Military of France, French military launched an unsuccessful operation in Bulo Marer, Lower Shabelle, Somalia to rescue French hostage Denis Allex from the militant Islamism, Islamist organization Al-Shabaab (militant group), al-Shabaab. Allex was executed in response, and two French commandos, at least 17 Islamist militants and at least eight civilians were killed in the firefight. Background Denis Allex and Marc Aubrière were deployed to Mogadishu, Somalia in 2009 by the French Directorate-General for External Security (DGSE) to train soldiers from the Transitional Federal Government. On 14 July 2009, both men were kidnapped from the Sahafi Hotel where they were staying, by armed men impersonating police. Jake Allex
Aleksa Mandušić (Serbian Cyrillic: Алекса Мандушић; July 13, 1887 – August 28, 1959) was a Serbian-American soldier who received the Medal of Honor for his service in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was also known as Jake Allex Mandusich or simply Jake Allex. Military service Allex entered the U.S. Army in Chicago, Illinois, and returned there following World War I with the rank of Sergeant. While in the Army, he served in Company H, 131st Infantry, 33rd Infantry Division. In early August 1918, the rapid Allied advance during the Battle of Amiens ran into a very serious impediment in "a bare seventy-five-foot-high ridge" in an oxbow bend of the Somme River near Chipilly, which was still in German hands. Michel Allex (31 October 1947, Bourgoin-Jallieu, Isère – 21 April 2008) was a French chocolatier and politician, the appointed mayor of Chalon-sur-Saône, France since 2002. He was named by Dominique Perben as his replacement when Perben left Chalon-sur-Saône for his duties as a cabinet Minister for Jacques Chirac. In 1975, Allex opened his chocolate, pastry and confectionery shop located in the Place de l'Hotel de Ville. In 1982 he was distinguished as a Meilleur Ouvrier de France for his work in pastry. He was one of the rare chocolatiers left in France to create his own chocolate liquor from cocoa beans. In 1986 he was given the Meilleur Ouvrier for his work in sorbet and ice cream confections. M. Desloratadine sold under the brand name Aerius among others, is a tricyclic H1 antagonist, H1 inverse agonist that is used to treat allergy, allergies. It is an active metabolite of loratadine. It was patented in 1984 and came into medical use in 2001. It was brought to the market in the US by Schering Corporation, later named Schering-Plough. Medical uses Desloratadine is used to treat allergic rhinitis, nasal congestion and chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives). It is the major metabolite of loratadine and the two drugs are similar in safety and effectiveness. Desloratadine is available in many dosage forms and under many brand names worldwide. An emerging indication for desloratadine is in the treatment of acne, as an inexpensive adjuvant to isotretinoin and possibly as maintenance therapy or monotherapy.
