"All I Need" is a song by American actor and singer Jack Wagner (actor), Jack Wagner. The song was released in 1984 from his debut album All I Need (Jack Wagner album), with the same name. Wagner became known for his role as Frisco Jones on the soap opera ''General Hospital'' prior to recording the song; he has since had roles on other television programs, such as ''The Bold and the Beautiful'' and ''Melrose Place''. "All I Need" was written by Glen Ballard, David Pack and Clif Magness and produced by Ballard and Magness. The song proved to be Wagner's only Top 40 hit, peaking at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in early 1985, remaining there for two weeks, behind Madonna (entertainer), Madonna's "Like a Virgin (song), Like a Virgin". Peter John Wagner II (born October 3, 1959) is an American actor, singer, and golfer, best known for his roles on ''General Hospital'', ''Santa Barbara (TV series), Santa Barbara'', ''The Bold and the Beautiful'', and ''Melrose Place''. Early life Wagner was born in Washington, Missouri, to Peter John Wagner, a car salesman (died 1990), and Irene M. ( Amberg) "Scotty" Wagner (1920–2022), a homemaker. His only sibling, his elder brother Dennis Wagner (1953–2018), died of leukemia after a nearly two decade battle. Raised Catholic, Wagner attended St. Gertrude's parochial school and St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in his hometown, where he played football and basketball. He attended the University of Missouri for one year, then junior college before eventually enrolling at the University of Arizona, where he tried out for the golf team and drama department.
