Aliki Brandenberg
Aliki Liacouras Brandenberg or pen name Aliki (born September 3, 1929) is an American author and illustrator of books for children. Early life Brandenberg was born in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey, to James Peter and Stella (née Lagakos) Liacouras. Her parents, who lived in Philadelphia, were originally from Greece, and they taught her to speak Greek as a first language. She started to draw at an early age, and her parents enrolled her in art classes. She also took piano lessons. Career After graduating from the Philadelphia Museum School of Art in 1951, Brandenberg worked briefly at the J. C. Penney Company in New York, in that company's display department. She then moved back to Philadelphia and worked as a freelance artist, creating art for advertising and display purposes. Amelia Tokagahahau Aliki (c. 1845 - 10 March 1895) was a queen of Uvea, ruling from 1869 until 1895. She was preceded by her aunt Falakika Seilala Falakika Seilala (died 20 February 1869), was a Queen of Uvea, ruling from 1858 until 1869. Agkairia
Agkairia () is a village and a community in the Cyclades. It is located in the southwestern corner of the island of Paros. At the 2021 census, the population of the village was 343, and of the community 1,302. The community consists of several villages and uninhabited islets. The main villages are Alyki (, pop. 708), Agkairia, Kamari (pop. 88) and Voutakos (pop. 81). Overview Alyki is one of the larger villages on the island of Paros. Located on a small bay at the southwest corner of the island Alyki is home to several active fishermen. Some semi-retired fishermen and taverna owners catch octopus through the winter to supply the increased activity during the tourist season, primarily June through September.
