Aliens Vs. Predator (comics)
''Aliens vs. Predator'' (also known as ''Aliens versus Predator'', abbreviated ''AVP'') is a comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics between 1989 and 2020 on an intermittent basis, written and drawn by various artists. Dark Horse also published the '' Aliens'' and ''Predator'' lines of comics. AVP is part of the crossover franchise originated and published by Dark Horse Comics. According to the notes which accompany the first ''Aliens versus Predator'' graphic novel, the original idea of combining the Aliens with Predators was the result of a late 1980s brain-storming session between the comic's creators and Dark Horse executives. ''AVP'' artist and editor Chris Warner is credited with suggesting the concept. Eventually, a film, '' Alien vs. Predator'', was made in 2004, with a sequel in 2007 (called '' Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem'') including a hybrid of a Xenomorph and a Predator. However, the films did not follow either the settings or the stories of the original ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Predator (fictional Species)
The Predators are an enponymous extraterrestrial species characterized by their ritualistic trophy hunting of other lifeforms. Initially conceived by screenwriters Jim and John Thomas and designed by special effects artist Stan Winston, the species made its first appearance as the villain in the 1987 science fiction action film ''Predator'', directed by John McTiernan. Depicted as large, sapient and sentient humanoid beings equipped with advanced technology such as active camouflage, directed-energy weapons, and interstellar spacecraft, they became emblematic horror villains of the late 20th century, blending the tropes of slasher villains with elements of alien invasion and militaristic survival narratives. The success of ''Predator'' led to the establishment of the broader ''Predator'' franchise. This includes several direct sequels and prequels —''Predator 2'' (1990), '' Predators'' (2010), '' The Predator'' (2018), ''Prey'' (2022), '' Predator: Killer of Killers' ... Sand Trap
Sand is a granular material composed of finely divided mineral particles. Sand has various compositions but is usually defined by its grain size. Sand grains are smaller than gravel and coarser than silt. Sand can also refer to a soil texture, textural class of soil or soil type; i.e., a soil containing more than 85 percent sand-sized particles by mass. The composition of sand varies, depending on the local rock sources and conditions, but the most common constituent of sand in inland continental settings and non-tropical coastal settings is silica (silicon dioxide, or SiO2), usually in the form of quartz. Calcium carbonate is the second most common type of sand. One such example of this is aragonite, which has been created over the past 500million years by various forms of life, such as coral and shellfish. It is the primary form of sand apparent in areas where reefs have dominated the ecosystem for millions of years, as in the Caribbean. Somewhat more rarely, sand may be c ...
