''Alien'' is a 1982 List of maze video games, maze video game for the Atari 2600 published by Fox Video Games. Doug Neubauer
Doug Neubauer is an American integrated circuit designer, video game designer, and programmer. Following graduation for Oregon State University and working at National Semiconductor, Neubauer worked at Atari, Inc. where he would develop the logic design on Atari's POKEY chip and designing and programming the video game ''Star Raiders'' (1980) both for the Atari 8-bit computers, Atari 8-bit computer line. ''Star Raiders'' would go on to become one of the best-known games for Atari's 8-bit computers. Neubauer left Atari and worked for several companies such as Hewlett-Packard and developing video games for 20th Century Fox based on popular films for the Atari 2600 video game system. He would make more follow-ups for the system for Atari in the later half of the 1980s such as ''Solaris (video game), Solaris'' (1986). Atari, Inc. was an American video game developer and home computer company founded in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney. Atari was a key player in the formation of the video arcade and video game industry. The Venus flytrap (''Dionaea muscipula'') is a carnivorous plant native to the temperate and subtropical wetlands of North Carolina and South Carolina, on the East Coast of the United States. ''Freeway'' is an action video game written by David Crane (programmer), David Crane for the Atari 2600 and published by Activision in 1981. In the game, one or two players control chickens who cross a ten-lane highway filled with traffic. The goal is to set a high score in an allotted time. Every time a chicken gets across, a point is earned for that player. Depending on the difficulty mode, a chicken is forced back a lane or sent to the bottom of the screen when hit by a vehicle. ''Freeway'' was a new game developed by Crane for Activision, which had begun releasing games independently in 1980. Crane stated the game was inspired by an incident involving Activision staff witnessing someone crossing Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. Crane's game initially involved a human being crossing the game, and was changed shortly before release to being a chicken. ''Retro Gamer'' is a British magazine, published worldwide, covering Retrogaming, retro video games. It was the first commercial magazine to be devoted entirely to the subject.
