''Alice in Wonderland'' is the second album by the German progressive rock band Neuschwanstein (band), Neuschwanstein, although in terms of the recording date it was actually the group's first production, which was also not supposed to be released as an album. Originally intended as a demo tape in 1976, the French label Musea Records, Musea finally released it as a CD in 2008. Neuschwanstein (band)
Neuschwanstein is a progressive rock band which, although never signed to a major record label, were nevertheless able to release an album that was highly regarded in the prog rock scene in the 1970s. Band history Thomas Neuroth and Kaus Mayer met during their school years in Völklingen in 1971 and quickly realised that they had common musical interests. They both had a solid background in music and appreciated the structures and lyricism of classical music combined with rock elements. Inspired by Rick Wakeman and King Crimson, the two decided, together with some other school friends, to form a band, which they named Neuschwanstein. This band name was no coincidence, as this Neuschwanstein Castle, castle, built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, represents the romantic era in its most impressive form. Scorpions are a German hard rock band formed in Hanover in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. Dave Cousins (born David Joseph Hindson; 7 January 1945) is an English musician who has been the leader, singer and most-active songwriter of Strawbs, since 1967. Cousins is a founding member of Strawbs, which started out as the Strawberry Hill Boys, playing bluegrass music, then moved on to folk, folk rock, and progressive rock. He has also performed as an acoustic duo with Strawbs guitarist Brian Willoughby, and as Acoustic Strawbs with Willoughby (until August 2004), Dave Lambert and Chas Cronk (since September 2004). The Strawbs are an English rock band founded in 1964 as the Strawberry Hill Boys. The band started out as a bluegrass group, but eventually moved on to other styles such as folk rock and progressive rock. They are best known for their hit " Part of the Union", which reached number two in the UK Singles Chart in February 1973, as well as for " Lay Down", a popular progressive rock hit from the same LP.
