''Alice Through the Looking Glass'' (1966), was a live action musical film made for television, directed by Alan Handley, and based on Lewis Carroll's 1871 novel ''Through the Looking-Glass''. Alan Handley
Alan Handley (March 11, 1912 – January 5, 1990) was an American producer and director of television programmes. In 1966 he was awarded the Emmy in the category "Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Variety or Music" for his work on '' The Julie Andrews Show'' (1965). Stage career In the 1930s, Handley acted in a number of theatrical productions, on and off Broadway. His acting career came to an end with the advent of World War II, during which he served in the Army Engineers. Television career Handley's career as a television producer at NBC was initially most marked by his work on '' The Dinah Shore Show'' (1951–1957). Richard Remick Smothers (born November 20, 1938) is an American actor, comedian, composer, and musician. He was half of the musical comedy team the Smothers Brothers, with his older brother Tom. Life and career Smothers was born in New York City in 1938, the son of Ruth (''née'' Remick), a homemaker, and Thomas B. Smothers, an Army officer who died as a prisoner of war, of the Japanese, in April 1945. After moving to Southern California, Dick attended Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, California, and graduated from Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, California, and later attended San José State University, then called San José State College.
