Alice's Odyssey
''Alice's Odyssey'' () is a Canadian family comedy fantasy film, directed by Denise Filiatrault and released in 2002. The film stars Sophie Lorain as Alice Tremblay, a single mother who becomes drawn into the fairy tale that she is reading to her young daughter as a bedtime story. The cast also includes Martin Drainville, Pierrette Robitaille, Marc Labrèche, Mitsou Gélinas, Danielle Ouimet, Marc Béland, Pascale Desrochers, Myriam Poirier, Gordon Masten, Louise Portal, Jacques Languirand, Liliana Komorowska, France D'Amour, Pierre Lebeau, Denise Bombardier and Michel Barrette. Denise Filiatrault
Denise Filiatrault, (born May 16, 1931) is a Canadian actress and director. Biography Filiatrault attained star status on TV in the 1960s, co-starring with Dominique Michel in the Radio-Canada television series '' Moi et l'autre'' (1967–71) and in many editions of Radio-Canada's annual New Year's special, '' Bye Bye''. She had further success in '' Chez Denise'' (1978–1982), ''Le 101, avenue des Pins'' (1984–85) and ''Denise... aujourd'hui'' (1990–91). In addition to her television career, Filiatrault also performed in films and on stage, notably in works by Michel Tremblay. The Prix Iris for Best Sound () is an annual film award presented by Québec Cinéma as part of the Prix Iris awards program, to honour the year's best sound in feature films made within the Cinema of Quebec. Unlike some film awards, Québec Cinéma does not present separate awards for overall sound and sound editing, but instead honours the full sound team in a single category; however it does also present a distinct category for Best Sound in a Documentary. Until 2016, it was known as the Jutra Award for Best Sound in memory of influential Quebec film director Claude Jutra. Following the withdrawal of Jutra's name from the award, the 2016 award was presented under the name Québec Cinéma. The Prix Iris name was announced in October 2016. François Barbeau
François Barbeau (July 27, 1935 – January 28, 2016) was an award-winning Canadian costume designer. He was a professor at the National Theatre School of Canada and the Université du Québec à Montréal who worked on over 700 productions in Quebec and around the world. After taking sewing in high school, he began his career in the 1950s at the theatre The Caravan of Paul Buissonneau. He afterwards worked as a designer at the Théâtre du Rideau Vert. Among the films he worked on are ''Léolo'' (1992), for which he won the Genie Award for Best Costume Design, and ''Laurence Anyways'' (2012), sharing the Genie with Xavier Dolan. In film, Barbeau mentored fellow-costume designer and Genie winner Louise Jobin. In 1996, he received the Governor General's Award, and in 2000 he joined the Order of Canada.
