Sir Alexander Reid, 2nd Baronet
Sir Alexander Reid, 2nd Baronet (died 5 March 1750) was a Scottish laird and politician from Aberdeenshire. He sat in the House of Commons of Great Britain from 1710 to 1713. Reid was the oldest son of Sir John Reid, 1st Baronet, of Barra in Aberdeenshire. His mother Marion was a daughter of John Abercromby of Glassaugh, Banffshire. He was educated from 1698 to 1702 at Marischal College of Aberdeen University, and in 1705 he married Agnes Ogily, daughter of Hon. Sir Alexander Ogilvy, 1st Baronet, of Forglen, Banff. They had two sons, one of whom died before his parents. Reid became a burgess of Kintore by 1710, and he was Kintore's commissioner at the 1710 general election. He used his position to vote for himself as Member of Parliament (MP) for Elgin Burghs in the interest of Lord Seafield. Alexander Walker Reid
Alexander Walker Reid (14 September 1853 – 21 November 1938) was a 19th-century New Zealand farmer, inventor, and entrepreneur. He was notable for making Stratford the second or third New Zealand town to have an electricity supply, for constructing the first steam-powered motor car in the country, and for creating an innovative milking machine. Family Reid was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on 14 September 1853. His parents were Alexander Reid, a carter, and Helen Reid. The family emigrated to New Zealand in 1860, arriving at Lyttelton on the ''William Miles'' on 21 August. They took up farming at Southbridge and later moved to Springfield. Reid is thought to have possibly been trained as an apprentice by Scott Brothers in Christchurch. On 28 June 1876 Reid married Janet Whyte at Christchirch and moved to Ōpunake in 1882. Alexander Reid (1854–1928) was a Glasgow art dealer and amateur artist, and friend of James Abbott McNeill Whistler and Vincent van Gogh. He was one of the most influential art dealers in Europe in the early 20th century, exhibiting and selling artworks by some of the finest artists of his period, including the Impressionists, the Post-Impressionists, the Glasgow Boys and the Scottish Colourists. He helped build up the French painting collection of Sir William Burrell. and many of the works he dealt with now feature in major private, civic and national art collections all over the world. Alex Michael Reid (born 6 September 1995) is an English professional footballer who most recently played as a striker for club Oldham Athletic. Reid began his career at Aston Villa's academy before becoming an apprentice at Walsall. He joined Swedish club Ånge IF in 2014, before returning to England to play for Solihull Moors in 2015. He then joined Rushall Olympic of the Northern Premier League and spent a year-and-a-half there. Following a successful trial, Reid signed for League One club Fleetwood Town in January 2017. During his time at Fleetwood, he was loaned out to National League clubs in the form of Wrexham and former employers Solihull Moors throughout the 2017–18 season.
