Alexander Jonathan Gordon (born February 10, 1984) is an American former professional baseball left fielder who played his entire career for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2007 to 2020. Prior to playing professionally, Gordon attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he played college baseball for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. At Nebraska, Gordon won the Brooks Wallace Award, Dick Howser Trophy, and Golden Spikes Award in 2005. That year, the Royals selected Gordon with the second overall pick in the 2005 MLB Draft. Gordon made his major league debut in 2007 as a third baseman, but had an inconsistent beginning to his career. In 2010, the Royals demoted Gordon to the minor leagues for a substantial period of time, and moved Gordon from third base to the outfield. (related to MI5) in 1916 to infiltrate the labour and anti-war movement which was proving more effective after the introduction of conscription in the United Kingdom. Alex Groncier Gordon (born September 14, 1964) is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 1987 through 1993. He played college football at the University of Cincinnati. According to an August 1987 ''Sports Illustrated'' article, Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka wanted to draft Gordon in the first round (No. 26 overall) in the 1987 NFL Draft. However, Ditka was overruled by the Bears' front office, which instead selected Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh. The Jets selected Gordon in the second round with the 42nd overall pick that year. In 1995, Gordon began playing in the Canadian Football League for the U.S. expansion Memphis Mad Dogs. In that one season, he led the team with 61 tackles and 7 sacks. Alex Gordon (8 September 1922 – 24 June 2003) was a British film producer and screenwriter. He produced eighteen films, including the American International Pictures films ''Day the World Ended'' (1955) and ''The She Creature'' (1956). He wrote screenplays for three films, two of them with B-movie director Ed Wood, '' Jail Bait'' (1954) and ''Bride of the Monster'' (1956). Gordon's brother Richard Gordon was also a film producer. Sir Alexander John Gordon, CBE (25 February 1917 – 12 July 1999) was a Welsh architect. Born in Ayr, Scotland, he was brought up and educated in Swansea and Cardiff. After World War II he designed several major buildings in Cardiff and Swansea, and from 1971 to 1973 he served as president of the Royal Institute of British Architects. In 1974 he summarised the needs of new architecture as 'Long life, loose fit, low energy'.
