Oleksandr Mykolayovych Stepanov (; born 26 May 1983) is a former Ukrainian football player. Stepanov debuted on 21 March 2001 by coming as a substitute in the Ukrainian First League against FC Chornomorets Odesa. Soon after Bukovyna relegated to the third tier, in 2002 Stepanov moved Russia where he joined Saturn Ramenskoye playing at the top level. However, he only played for the club's reserve squad. On 16 March 2003 Stepanov debuted at the Russian Premier League by coming as a substitute for FC Spartak-Alania Vladikavkaz in a game against FC Dynamo Moscow. The same year he was transferred out to Kuzbass. In 2008 Stepanov reappeared in Finland playing for the third-tier team and in 2008 moved back to Ukraine where he tried his skills in futsal by playing for his hometown club Merkuriy Chernivtsi. Alexander Alexandrovich Stepanov (; born November 16, 1950, Moscow) is a Russian-American computer programmer, best known as an advocate of generic programming and as the primary designer and implementer of the C++ Standard Template Library, which he started to develop around 1992 while employed at HP Labs. He had earlier been working for Bell Labs close to Andrew Koenig and tried to convince Bjarne Stroustrup to introduce something like Ada generics in C++. He is credited with the notion of concept. Aleksandr Mikhailovich Stepanov (; 30 August 1893 – 11 August 1941) was a Red Army major general. Stepanov rose from private to officer during World War I and held brigade command during the Russian Civil War. Between the wars, he held command and staff positions and was decorated for his actions in the Winter War. He commanded the 27th Rifle Division in Belarus during the Battle of Białystok–Minsk and was killed in action while escaping from encirclement. Early life, World War I, and Russian Civil War Stepanov was born on 30 August 1893 to a Russian peasant family in the village of Pepel, Soligalichsky Uyezd, Kostroma Governorate. He graduated from primary school and a city school before working at the Petrograd Post Office as a postal clerk. During World War I, Stepanov was mobilized into the Imperial Russian Army in September 1914 and sent to the Krasnoye Selo Reserve Rifle Battalion of the Petrograd Military District as a private. Alexander Vasilievich Stepanov (; August 26, 1908 – May 16, 1972) was a Soviet physicist and material scientist who pioneered the study of crystal deformation, the molecular structures of materials, studies on stress and breakage. He contributed to the development of composite materials. His technique for producing what are called shaped crystals was influential in the field of material studies and continues to be used, known as the "Stepanov method". Life and work Stepanov was born in St. Petersburg where his father was a building technician. He graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute in 1930. He worked at the laboratory of Ivan Obreimov at Leningrad, followed by Kharkiv, and still later at the lab of Abram Ioffe. He spent some time at the optics laboratory headed by V. K. Fredericks.
