Alderac Entertainment Group Games
Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) is a publisher of family board game products. AEG was formed by Jolly Blackburn in 1993. Blackburn left the company in 1995 and the majority of the company is now owned by President & CEO John Zinser (game designer), John Zinser. The company is virtual and does not have a physical headquarters but it is legally domiciled in the city of Henderson, Nevada. AEG's first product was ''Shadis'' Magazine (winner of the 1994, 1995, and 1996 Origins Awards for ''Best Professional Gaming Magazine''). In 1994 the company began working on the development of the Legend of the Five Rings Collectible Card Game; that game was published in 1995. Throughout the 1990s AEG expanded its CCG offerings and began designing and publishing Role-Playing Game and Miniatures game, Miniatures Wargame Game products as well. Henderson is a city in Clark County, Nevada, United States, about southeast of downtown Las Vegas. Legend Of The Burning Sands
''Legend of the Burning Sands'' (''LBS'') is an out-of-print collectible card game (CCG) published by Five Rings Publishing Group (FRPG, then a subsidiary of Wizards of the Coast) in July 1998. It was a spin-off from the earlier CCG ''Legend of the Five Rings''. ''Legend of the Burning Sands'' was set in the same fictional world as ''Legend of the Five Rings'', but with an Arabian setting rather than an East Asian one, with a few characters appearing in both games. Both games had similar mechanics and emphasized a continuing storyline. The first three ''Legend of the Burning Sands'' sets were released under FRPG's experimental Rolling Thunder system, which emphasized small, regular releases of cards. The Rolling Thunder distribution mechanism proved to be unpopular, however, so the game was put on hiatus. Doomtown Collectible Card Game
Doomtown (originally ''Deadlands: Doomtown'', later rereleased as ''Doomtown: Reloaded'') is an expandable card game based on the ''Deadlands'' role-playing game. It was originally a collectible card game (''Deadlands: Doomtown'') that ran from 1998 through 2001, published by Wizards of the Coast (WotC) under license to Pinnacle Entertainment Group until January 2000, when WotC quit production and the license transferred to Alderac Entertainment Group; its last expansion for many years was ''Do unto Others'' from 2001. In 2014 the game was revived (as ''Doomtown: Reloaded'') with updated rules and sold in non-randomized expansions. ''7th Sea'' is an out-of-print collectible card game (CCG) first designed by Dan Verssen and published by Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) from 1999 to 2002. Its theme is swashbuckling nautical adventure found in classic stories like Treasure Island. It is set in the world of Théah shared with the '' 7th Sea'' tabletop role-playing game. Setting In the ''7th Sea CCG'', players take the role of naval captains in the fantasy- Restoration world of Théah. The game attempted to capture the feeling of a Hollywood pirate battle, complete with huge galleys, cannon-shot exchanges, and daring sea boardings. Mystic Vale
Mystic Vale is a forested ravine that was acquired by the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, in 1993. It is located outside the ring road to the southeast of campus. Its tree canopy is dominated by large specimens of Douglas-fir and grand fir. A few western red cedar also occur. Scattered among these conifers are deciduous trees such as bigleaf maple, black cottonwood, and willow. Some Garry oak is present at the forest edge. Canada's only native broadleaf evergreen tree, the arbutus, is also present. Mystic Vale is one of the popular green spaces on campus as thousands of students and community members use the area each year for recreation.
