''Al TV'' is an American comedy television series created by and starring singer-songwriter "Weird Al" Yankovic that aired as periodic specials on MTV and VH1, beginning in 1984. Overview The premise of the show is that Yankovic uses his private satellite transmitter to commandeer the airwaves of a music video station in order to show the videos that ''he'' wants to watch. The program is primarily a parody of MTV itself, including that of MTV's Moon landing image sequence. As its theme music, the series featured a re-recording of MTV's own theme at the time, featuring Yankovic on accordion and Manualism (hand music), manualist "Musical Mike" Kieffer. The show features commercials for imaginary products, fake interviews with celebrities, comments on the latest music news, letters from fans, and bizarre ''non sequiturs''. MuchMusic
Much is a Canadian English language discretionary specialty channel owned by BCE Inc. through its Bell Media subsidiary that airs programming aimed at teenagers and young adults. It is headquartered at 299 Queen Street West in what was once called the MuchMusic World Headquarters. This channel was originally launched on August 31, 1984 as MuchMusic, under the ownership of CHUM Limited, the owner of Citytv Toronto, though "Much" has been the branding most commonly seen on-air since 1997. Bill Welychka is a Canadian television personality, best known as a VJ for MuchMusic and its sister station MuchMoreMusic from 1992 to 2005. Born and raised in Welland, Ontario, Welychka first joined CHUM Limited in 1988 as a video editor for MuchMusic before transitioning to an on-air role as host of the channel's country music series ''Outlaws & Heroes'' in the early 1990s. In 1995, he became host of the world music show ''ClipTrip'', as well as taking on regular duties as a general videoflow host. ''Alapalooza'' is the Weird Al Yankovic discography, eighth studio album by the American parody musician "Weird Al" Yankovic, released in 1993 in music, 1993. By the completion of his previous album, ''Off the Deep End'', Yankovic had already written all of the original songs that he planned to use on his next release. This new album, which would eventually be titled ''Alapalooza'' in reference to the music festival Lollapalooza, consisted of seven original songs and five parodies.
