Al Ahly Roller hockey (), was one of Al Ahly SC club's sections that represented the club in Egypt, Roller hockey team in Al Ahly was one of the fewest teams who practised this sport in Egypt. Indeed, it is the first team ever to play this kind of sport in Egypt History Al Ahly was the best team ever in Egypt in roller hockey in the 1940s, as what is common with all of Al Ahly sports teams. Al Ahly as usual in this era, effectively participated in the formation of the first 100% Egyptian roller hockey federation, with support of other three Egyptian clubs including Al Sekka Al Hadid and Police. Al Ahly was a pioneer to introduce the Roller hockey into the Egyptian sports field. this was so difficult to find a customized ground to practise this sport. Fields for this sport were so few in Egypt in 1940s, and here was Al Ahly initiative to find a solution for such a concern. Mahmoud El Khatib
Mahmoud Ibrahim Ibrahim El Khatib (; born 30 October 1954), popularly nicknamed Bibo (), is an Egyptian retired footballer and current President of Al Ahly. He is considered as one of the best forwards in the history of African football. Early life and education El Khatib was born on 30 October 1954 in Qarqirah, El Senbellawein, Dakahlia. He studied in local schools and obtained his college degree from the Cooperation Institute. Career El Khatib played his entire career in Al Ahly, where he won ten Egyptian Premier League titles, five Egypt Cup titles, two African Cup of Champions Clubs titles and three African Cup Winners' Cup titles with Al Ahly. He won the Egyptian League top scorer twice. Port Said Stadium Riot
The Port Said Stadium riot was a riot which occurred at Port Said Stadium in Port Said, Egypt on 1 February 2012, following an Egyptian Premier League football match between Al Masry and Al Ahly. Seventy-four people were killed and more than 500 injured after thousands of Al Masry fans invaded the pitch following a 3–1 victory by their club. Al Ahly fans were attacked using clubs, stones, machetes, knives, bottles, and fireworks, trapping them inside the Al Ahly partition of the stadium. Many of the deaths were due to police refusal to open the stadium gates, trapping fans inside and causing a stampede. Civil unrest and clashes with police erupted in several major cities, such as Cairo, Alexandria, and Suez, in response to police's handling of the riot.
