al-'Azi (, ) is an Arab village in Israel. Located just south of Kfar Menahem, it falls under the jurisdiction of Yoav Regional Council. In it had a population of . The village was officially recognized in 2003 but existed long before then. The Trans-Israel Highway was built on land owned by the village, with the village given land owned by neighbouring kibbutz Kfar Menahem as compensation. Yoav Regional Council
Yoav Regional Council (, ''Mo'atza Azorit Yoav'') is a regional council in the Southern District of Israel. It is located near the cities of Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malakhi and Ashkelon. It was founded in 1952, covering an area of 230,000 dunams (230 km2), with a population of about 5,300. The council is named after Yitzhak Dubnov, who was nicknamed " Yoav", and who fell while defending Negba in the 1947–1949 Palestine war. Operation Yoav and Metzudat Yoav, which is located in the council's area, are also named after him. The council contains two parts which are not contiguous geographically. The main part is bordered on the north by Nahal Sorek Regional Council, on the west by Be'er Tuvia Regional Council and Shafir Regional Council, on the south by Lakhish Regional Council and Kiryat Gat, and on the east by Matte Yehuda Regional Council. Highway 6 (Israel)
Highway 6 (, ''Kvish Shesh''), also known as the Trans-Israel Highway or Cross-Israel Highway (, ''Kvish Ḥotzeh Yisra'el''), is a major electronic toll highway in Israel. Highway 6 is the first Israeli Build-Operate-Transfer road constructed, carried out mainly by the private sector in return for a concession to collect tolls on the highway for a given number of years. It is also one of the largest infrastructure projects undertaken in Israel. Kfar Menahem (, ''lit.'' Menahem Village) is a kibbutz in southern Israel. Located about 7 km east of Kiryat Malakhi, it falls under the jurisdiction of Yoav Regional Council. In it had a population of . History Kfar Menahem (originally ''Irgun Menahem'') was founded in 1935 by a group of pioneers from Rehovot. The village was named for Menachem Ussishkin, that was a Zionist leader and head of the Jewish National Fund. During the Arab revolt in 1936, the place was abandoned by Jews and destroyed by Arabs. On 28 July 1937, it was re-established as a moshav but could not sustain itself. In 1939, the Irgun Menachem group was replaced by the Kvutzat Krit group from the United States, members of Hashomer Hatzair who were training in the moshava of Hadar, near Ramatayim.
