Akira Watanabe (racing Driver)
is a retired Japanese racing driver. Racing career Watanabe first began competing in 1975 in the Fuji Freshman Race. He is a noted touring car racing specialist, winning multiple championships in Super Taikyu and the Civic Inter Cup. He competed in a round of the 1988 Japanese Formula 3 Championship at Sendai Hi-Land Raceway but failed to qualify; he would be replaced by Hisashi Wada for the next round. Watanabe first competed in Super GT in 1985 but did not race full-time until 1998; in that year, he drove a Toyota Cavalier for KRAFT. Sendai Hi-Land Raceway
Sendai Hi-Land Raceway was a motor racing circuit in 12 Hayasaka, Shinkawa, Aoba-ku, Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. In the 1990s, Sendai hosted rounds of the Japanese Touring Car Championship and Japanese Grand Touring Championship. It also hosted All-Japan Formula Three Championship races until 2007. On October 17, 2010, the Japanese mountain race track hosted the sixth race in the 2010 Super Taikyu Endurance Series. A straight-four engine (also referred to as an inline-four engine) is a four-cylinder Reciprocating engine, piston engine where cylinders are arranged in a line along a common crankshaft. The majority of automotive four-cylinder engines use a straight-four layout (with the exceptions of the flat-four engines produced by Subaru and Porsche) and the layout is also very common in motorcycles and other machinery. Keiji Matsumoto
was a Japanese racing driver who competed at the top level of Japanese Formula racing, currently known as Super Formula, between 1976 and 1992. Under the Japanese Formula 2 moniker, he won the championship in 1979 and was runner-up to future Formula 1 driver Satoru Nakajima in 1982 and 1985. Choro-Q
is a line of Japanese 3–4 cm pullback motor, pullback car toys produced by Takara Tomy (formerly Takara). Known in North America as Penny Racers, they were introduced in late 1978 and have seen multiple revisions and successors since. The name comes from the Japanese term ''choro-choro'', meaning "dash around", as well as an abbreviation of the Japanese Loanword, borrowing from "cute" (''kyūto'') to connote their petite size. Takara created the Choro-Q line after noticing the popularity of miniature car toys in Japan. Choro-Qs are stylized after real-world automobiles, with real rubber wheels and a pullback motor that makes them move. The , the , is a long motorsport race track located in Ino, Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, Japan and operated by Honda Mobilityland, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co, Ltd. It has a capacity of 155,000. It is most well known by its use by both the international Formula One; and Japanese Super Formula championships.
