''Akeli'' is a 2014 Hindi film produced, written, and directed by Vinod Pande. The film featured R. Madhavan in his first full-length role in a Hindi film, alongside Danseuse Nandini Ghosal and Anupam Shyam. ''Akelli'' () is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action-thriller film directed by Pranay Meshram in his directorial debut. It stars Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead role. The film is about an ordinary Indian girl trapped in a combat zone who must battle for her life. ''Akelli'' was released on 25 August 2023 to negative reviews from critics. Plot In 2014, Jyoti, an Indian woman lands in Mosul to take up a new job as supervisor in a garments factory. She is received at the airport by Raafiq, a Pakistani national, also an employee at the factory. On the way from the airport, she witnesses a little girl who has been strapped to a bomb and is killed when the bomb disposal team is unable to disable the bomb. Earlier, she had gotten fired from her job at an airport in India after an altercation with an unruly passenger. Because of this, she is unable to get a new job. Patsy Serafina Akeli (née McKenzie) (born 7 December 1978 in Motootua) is a Samoan javelin thrower. She is a two-time Olympian, a 2008 national javelin throw champion, and a member of the QEII Track Club in Australia. She set both a national record and a personal best throw of 54.78 metres, by winning her event at the New Zealand Athletics Championships in Wellington, New Zealand. Akeli made her official debut for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where she placed fortieth in the qualifying rounds of the women's javelin throw, at a distance of 45.93 metres. At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, Akeli achieved her best career result, when she finished ninth in the final round of the women's javelin, with a best possible throw of 51.25 metres.
