Aise Johan De Jong
Aise Johan de Jong (born 30 January 1966) is a Dutch mathematician and professor of mathematics at Columbia University. His research interests include arithmetic geometry and algebraic geometry. He maintains the Stacks Project. Early life and education De Jong was born in Bruges, Belgium on 30 January 1966. He attended the Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet in The Hague, Netherlands. He obtained his master's degree at Leiden University in 1987, under the supervision of Antonius Van de Ven. He earned his Ph.D. ''cum laude'' at the Radboud University Nijmegen in 1992, under the supervision of Frans Oort and Joseph H. M. Steenbrink. Career De Jong spent 1 year as a visitor at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, 3 months as a visitor at Bielefeld University, and then 3 years as a fellow at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences stationed at Utrecht University. Algebraic Stack
In mathematics, an algebraic stack is a vast generalization of algebraic spaces, or schemes, which are foundational for studying moduli theory. Many moduli spaces are constructed using techniques specific to algebraic stacks, such as Artin's representability theorem, which is used to construct the moduli space of pointed algebraic curves \mathcal_ and the moduli stack of elliptic curves. Originally, they were introduced by Alexander Grothendieck to keep track of automorphisms on moduli spaces, a technique which allows for treating these moduli spaces as if their underlying schemes or algebraic spaces are smooth. Dan Abramovich
Dan Abramovich (; born March 12, 1963) is an Israeli-American mathematician working in the fields of algebraic geometry and arithmetic geometry. As of 2019, he holds the title of L. Herbert Ballou University Professor at Brown University, and he is an Elected Fellow of the American Mathematical Society. Education Abramovich received a bachelor's degree at Tel Aviv University in 1987 and completed a doctorate at Harvard University in 1991 under Joe Harris (''Subvarieties of abelian varieties and of Jacobians of curves''). Fedor Alekseyevich Bogomolov (born 26 September 1946) (Фёдор Алексеевич Богомолов) is a Russian and American mathematician, known for his research in algebraic geometry and number theory. Bogomolov worked at the Steklov Institute in Moscow before he became a professor at the Courant Institute in New York. He is most famous for his pioneering work on hyperkähler manifolds. Born in Moscow, Bogomolov graduated from Moscow State University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, and earned his doctorate (''"candidate degree"'') in 1973, at the Steklov Institute.
