Agnes Krumwiede
Agnes Krumwiede (born 17 January 1977) is a German pianist and politician of the Alliance 90/The Greens. From 2009 to 2013, she served as a member of the Bundestag and spokeswoman for cultural policy for the parliamentary group of the Greens. Life and career Education and personal life Krumwiede is a pianist and a qualified musician with a concert exam. She ran a piano school in Ingolstadt until 2009 and worked as a freelance concert pianist and song accompanist. She also worked as a freelancer for Bayerischer Rundfunk and Donaukurier. Krumwiede is single, lives in Ingolstadt and has a son with politician Stephan Kühn. Her sister Franziska Krumwiede-Steiner is also a Member of the German Bundestag. 2013 German Federal Election
The 2013 German federal election was held on 22 September to elect the members of the 18th Bundestag of Germany. At stake were all 598 seats to the Bundestag, plus 33 overhang seats determined thereafter. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany/Christian Social Union of Bavaria ( CDU/CSU) of incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel won their best result since 1990 with nearly 42% of the vote and nearly 50% of the seats, just five short for an overall majority. The Free Democratic Party (FDP) failed to meet the 5% vote electoral threshold in what was their worst showing ever in a federal election at the time, denying them seats in the Bundestag for the first time in their history. 2003 Bavarian State Election
The 2003 Bavarian state election was held on 21 September 2003 to elect the members to the 15th Landtag of Bavaria. The Christian Social Union in Bavaria, Christian Social Union (CSU) led by List of Ministers-President of Bavaria, Minister-President Edmund Stoiber achieved the largest majority in German history, winning 69% of the seats in the Landtag. This election was the first and to date only time a single party won a two-thirds supermajority of seats in any German state parliament. The CSU also won its largest proportion of the popular vote since 1974, at 60.7%. The election was marked by a major decline in turnout, falling by almost 13 points to 57%. As a result, despite achieving its best result in decades, the CSU won 230,000 votes fewer than it had in the 1998 election.
