Agents of Oblivion was an American rock band from Louisiana that evolved from Acid Bath. Fronted by Dax Riggs, their sound displayed influences from swamp rock, psychedelic rock, blues rock, grunge and metal, among others. Houma ( ) is the largest city in, and the parish seat of, Terrebonne Parish in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is also the largest principal city of the Houma– Bayou Cane– Thibodaux metropolitan statistical area. Acid Bath was an American sludge metal band from Houma, Louisiana, active from 1991 to 1997. Acid Bath combined doom metal roots with influences from hardcore punk, death metal, gothic rock, and blues to create the band's unique sound. They broke up after the death of bassist Audie Pitre in a traffic collision in January 1997. History Acid Bath was an incarnation of two bands, Dark Karnival which featured Audie Pitre, Sammy "Pierre" Duet, and Tommy Viator, and Golgotha which featured Dax Riggs, Mike Sanchez, Jimmy Kyle, and Jerry "Boon" Businelli. Golgotha's bassists were in frequent rotation finally culminating with Chad Pierce, who would then be succeeded by Pitre during Acid Bath's formation. Deadboy And The Elephantmen
Deadboy & the Elephantmen was an American indie rock band active from 2000 to 2007. Based in Houma, Louisiana, the band was fronted by Dax Riggs (formerly of Acid Bath and Agents of Oblivion). After disputes with an independent label over the distribution of their debut album '' If This Is Hell, Then I'm Lucky'', the band signed a three-record deal with Fat Possum. For the latter part of 2005, and most of 2006, they toured in support of their major label debut ''We Are Night Sky'', playing from bars and smaller venues to Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Bonnaroo. In early 2006, Riggs recruited his former Agents of Oblivion bandmate, Alex Bergeron, to play bass on tour. Later that year, the band was primarily a duo of Riggs and Tess Brunet. This lineup was often compared to The White Stripes in reviews, and their music is sometimes referred to as " swamp rock". By 2007, Brunet left the band and Riggs went on to a solo career. ''Paegan Terrorism Tactics'' is the second and final studio album by American heavy metal band Acid Bath. It is the band's last album before their disbanding in 1997 due to the death of bassist Audie Pitre. The album was written while the band was touring. The album and first track spell "paegan" with an added "e" to resemble Old English. The album's cover is a painting by Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Overview The lyrics on this album are poetic and further showcase Dax Riggs's dark sense of humor. "Paegan Love Song", according to Riggs, makes references to when the band was visiting a beach in Florida, where some people offered the band a deliriant called Angel's Trumpets. Riggs said the trip lasted for days, and the lines "dying felt so goddamn good today" refer to the band members waking up delirious on these flowers. Dax David Riggs (born October 15, 1973) is an American musician, best known for fronting the sludge metal band Acid Bath in the 1990s.
