Aftab Ahmed (Bangladeshi Cricketer)
Aftab Ahmed Chowdhury ( bn, আফতাব আহেমদ চৌধুরী, born 10 November 1985) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer, who played all formats of the game. He is a right hand batsman and right arm medium bowler. In August 2014, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after 2014/15 domestic season to focus on coaching. Early life Aftab Ahmed was born and spend most of his childhood in Chittagong. His first school was St. Mary's School. In his early days Aftab was careless about playing international cricket and even thought of it as a torture. He even refused to get admitted into BKSP as he had to leave his family and friends for it. But his father was valiant fan of sports and wanted his son to become a cricketer. Aftab remained passive about his cricketing career and have the record of leaving camp. He was also frustrated about the camps as he was not selected. Aftab Ahmed (born 17 May 1967) is a Pakistani-born former Danish cricketer. Ahmed is a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He made his debut for Denmark in a friendly against the Netherlands at Schiedam. He played two matches later in 1989 against the Australians who were returning from their tour of England. The following year he made his ICC Trophy debut in the 1990 ICC Trophy, which was held in the Netherlands, playing his first match in that competition against Gibraltar. Career Having represented Denmark at Under-19 level, Ahmed was selected for Denmark's squad for the 2011 World Cricket League Division Three in Hong Kong, making his full international debut against Italy. The Karachi Education Board cricket team was a first-class cricket team based in Karachi, Pakistan. The team played a single first-class match in the Ayub Trophy in November 1964 against Hyderabad at the National Stadium, Karachi. The team won the toss and batted first, making 253 all out, during which Akhtar Sadiq top–scored with 53. Hyderabad were then dismissed for 255 in their first-innings, with Vakil Tatari claiming the best bowling figures with 4/65. Responding in their second-innings, the team made 129/4 declared, with Aftab Ahmed top-scoring in the innings with 60. Aftab Ahmed (date of birth unknown) was a Pakistani cricketer. Primarily a batsman, all of Aftab's matches at first-class level came for Peshawar, during the 1956–57 and 1957–58 seasons of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He made his debut for the team in December 1956, against Punjab at the Peshawar Club Ground, a match which Peshawar lost by an innings and 169 runs after Fazal Mahmood took 8/21 in the team's first innings. The position in which Aftab batted was irregular; in his first match, he had opened the batting, but in later matches he batted as low as tenth. He played one further match during the 1956–57 season, and three the following season, but rarely made more than single-figure score. Aftab Ahmed (c. 1934 – 25 December 2013) was a Bangladeshi photojournalist. He served as chief photographer of Bengali newspaper ''The Daily Ittefaq''. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2006 by the Government of Bangladesh. Career Ahmed started his career as photojournalist in ''The Daily Ittefaq'' in 1962. He took photographs during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. Personal life Ahmed was married to Momtaz begum (died 29 June 2010). They had one son Monowar Ahmed and one daughter Afroz Ahmed. Death On 24 December 2013 Ahmed was found dead at his house in West Rampura region in Dhaka. According to the police, his hands and legs were tied up and a gag was wrapped around his mouth when his body was found.
