Giovanni Giuseppe Bianconi, sometimes J. Josephi or Joseph Bianconi, (31 July 1809 in Bologna – 18 October 1878 in Bologna) was an Italians, Italian zoologist, herpetologist, botanist and geologist. Career Bianconi sueceeded his teacher Camillo Ranzani as professor of Natural history, Natural History at the University of Bologna. In the field of herpetology he described several new species of amphibians and reptiles. In biology, trinomial nomenclature is the system of names for taxa below the rank of species. These names have three parts. The usage is different in zoology and botany. José Vicente Barbosa du Bocage (2 May 1823 – 3 November 1907) was a Portuguese zoologist, politician, and professor. He served as a professor of zoology and director of the National Museum of Natural History and Science, Lisbon, National Museum of Natural History and Science at the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, where he played a role in the development of Portuguese zoological collections and research.
