Adnan Al-Ghoul
Adnan Al-Ghoul (c. 1962 – 21 October 2004) ( ) was the assistant of Mohammed Deif, the leader of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas. He was killed in a targeted killing along with Imad Abbas when an Israeli Air Force AH-64 helicopter attacked their car in Gaza on 21 October 2004.Data tabulated froB'Tselem Statistics, Fatalities He is seen as a martyr by Hamas members. Adnan Al-Ghoul was one of the senior operatives in Hamas' military apparatus. He specialized in explosives and among other attacks was behind the 1995 attack at the Beit Lid junction in central Israel, and the 1996 bombing at Dizengoff Center in the heart of Tel Aviv, together responsible for the deaths of 32 Israelis. Adnan was not an "ordinary rank-and-file" operative but rather a top-ranking of Hamas' military apparatus in the Gaza Strip. Rafah ( ) is a city in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestine, and the capital of the Rafah Governorate. It is located south-west of Gaza City. In 2017, Rafah had a population of 171,889. Maghazi (camp)
Maghazi () is a Palestinian refugee camp located in the Deir al-Balah Governorate in the central Gaza Strip. It was established in 1949. The camp is built on 559 dunam, dunums (0.6 km2). In July 2023, the UNRWA reported its population to be 33,000. During the first months of the Gaza war, its population tripled and faced repeated airstrikes by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). History In early 1949 Quaker aid workers visited Maghazi and reported that there were 2,500 refugees camped on privately owned land. They were living in Bedouin and Egyptian army tents as well the British army barracks. Ahmed Yasin
Sheikh Ahmed Ismail Hassan Yassin (; June 1936 – 22 March 2004) was a Palestinian politician and imam who founded Hamas, an Islamist political and military organization. He also served as the first chairman of the Hamas Shura Council and de facto leader of Hamas since its inception from December 1987 until his assassination in March 2004. Yassin was born in Ashkelon, in Mandatory Palestine in 1929 or 1936. His family fled or were expelled during the 1948 Palestine War to Gaza City. Yassin, a quadriplegic who was nearly blind, had been reliant on a wheelchair due to a sporting accident at the age of 12. After its founding in 1987, Yassin served as the spiritual leader of Hamas. Yasin (RPG)
The Yasin (), also known as Yassin, or Al-Yassin, is an anti-tank weapon derived from the RPG-7 produced by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, and first deployed in 2004. It was named after Hamas' spiritual leader, Sheikh Ahmed Yasin, killed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on March 22, 2004. Primarily used by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, it has also been deployed by other Hamas units in Gaza, including the Executive Force, and Naval Police. Other users include fighters connected to Fatah and the PFLP. Although intended as an anti-tank weapon, the first version of the Yasin was chiefly operated against soft-skin vehicles and personnel.
