Aden () is a port city located in Yemen in the southern part of the Arabian peninsula, on the north coast of the Gulf of Aden, positioned near the eastern approach to the Red Sea. It is situated approximately 170 km (110 mi) east of the Bab-el-Mandeb strait. Aden (band)
Aden was an American band which was influenced by 1970s soft rock such as Steely Dan (from whom they borrowed the title of their albums ''Hey 19'' and ''Black Cow''). History Aden was formed at the University of Chicago in 1995, but since 1997 (when original drummer Josh Klein left the band) none of Aden's members has lived in the same city. Although the band has not recorded since 2002, guitarist and banjo player Kevin Barker has continued to play and record solo (as Currituck Co) and has collaborated live and on record with luminaries of the Naturalismo/ New Weird America scene such as Vashti Bunyan, Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom and Vetiver. The Royal Small Arms Factory ADEN cannon (ADEN being an acronym for "Armament Development, Enfield") is a 30 mm revolver cannon used on many military aircraft, particularly those of the British Royal Air Force and Fleet Air Arm. Developed post-World War II primarily to meet British Air Ministry's requirement for increased lethality in aircraft armament, the cannon is fired electrically, and is fully automatic once loaded. Design and development During World War II, the German firm Mauser began development of a radically new 20 mm autocannon using a motorised firing mechanism in order to improve the rate of fire. The weapon was designed for 20mm mine shell rounds (designated the Mauser MG 213 and for 30mm rounds (the Mauser MK 213). However, production of the MK 213 never commenced due to development problems such as excessive barrel wear, not to mention the Allied Combined Bomber Offensive campaign against German industry. The Chief Commissioner's Province of Aden was the administrative status under which the former Aden Settlement (1839–1932) was placed from 1932 to 1937. Under that new status, the Viceroy of India assumed direct control over Aden, which had hitherto been administered by the government of the Bombay Presidency. Aden Crater
Aden Crater is a small shield volcano located in Doña Ana County, about southwest of Las Cruces, New Mexico. It is located in the northwest part of the Aden-Afton basalt field, which is part of the central area of the Potrillo volcanic field. A fossilized ground sloth, now at the Peabody Museum, was found in a fumarole roughly 100' deep located on the SE portion of the crater rim. Several ground sloth coprolites were also recovered and were stored in the Geology department at UTEP. No volcanic activity at Aden Crater is known from historic times.
