Adelaide ( , ; ) is the capital and most populous city of South Australia, as well as the fifth-most populous city in Australia. The name "Adelaide" may refer to either Greater Adelaide (including the Adelaide Hills) or the Adelaide city centre; the demonym ''Adelaidean'' is used to denote the city and the residents of Adelaide. The traditional owners of the Adelaide region are the Kaurna, with the name referring to the area of the city centre and surrounding Park Lands, in the Kaurna language. Adelaide city centre () is the inner city locality of Adelaide, Greater Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. It is known by locals simply as "the City" or "Town" to distinguish it from Greater Adelaide and from the City of Adelaide local government area (which also includes North Adelaide and from the Adelaide Park Lands, Park Lands around the whole city centre). Adelaide Town Hall is a landmark building on King William Street in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. The City of Adelaide Town Hall complex includes the Town Hall and the office building at 25 Pirie Street. Victoria Square, also known as Tarntanyangga (formerly ''Tarndanyangga'', ), is the central square of five public squares in the Adelaide city centre, South Australia.
