Actinium(III) Hydroxide
Actinium(III) hydroxide is a white radioactive solid with the chemical formula of Ac(OH)3. Preparation Actinium(III) hydroxide may be formed from soluble actinium salts and alkalis or ammonia water, and the resulting gel is precipitated as the product:Tang, Renhuan; Liu, Yuanfang; Zhang, Qinglian; Zhang, Zhiyao. Series of Inorganic Chemistry. Volume 10. Actinides, Transactinides. 4.4 Actinium compounds. pp 75. (in Chinese) : Ac3+ + 3 OH− → Ac(OH)3↓ Its solubility is slightly greater than that of lanthanum hydroxide Lanthanum hydroxide is , a hydroxide of the rare-earth element lanthanum. Synthesis Lanthanum hydroxide can be obtained by adding an alkali such as ammonia to aqueous solutions of lanthanum salts such as lanthanum nitrate. This produces a gel-l ..., but it is still insoluble in water. Chemical properties Actinium(III) hydroxide is an alkaline hydroxide, it can react with acids to obtain actinium salts: : Ac(OH)3 + 3 HNO3 → Ac(NO3)3 + 3 H2O References ...

Scandium(III) Hydroxide
Scandium(III) hydroxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula , the trivalent hydroxide of scandium. It is an amphoteric In chemistry, an amphoteric compound () is a molecule or ion that can react both as an acid and as a base. What exactly this can mean depends on which definitions of acids and bases are being used. Etymology and terminology Amphoteric is d ... compound. It is slightly soluble in water, and its saturated solution (pH = 7.85) contains and a small amount of . The solubility of scandium(III) hydroxide in water is 0.0279 mol/L. It will convert to ScO(OH) after aging, greatly reducing the solubility (0.0008 mol/L). Scandium(III) hydroxide can be produced by reacting scandium salts and alkali hydroxides. In the reaction, different starting ingredients can generate different intermediates such as , and .Mironov, N. N.; Mal'kevich, N. V. Scandium hydroxide formation reaction. Yttrium(III) Hydroxide
Yttrium(III) hydroxide is an inorganic compound and an alkali with the chemical formula Y(OH)3. Production Yttrium(III) hydroxide can be produced by reacting yttrium(III) nitrate and sodium hydroxide in aqueous solution:田俐,陈稳纯,陈琳 等. 水热法合成氢氧化钇纳米管. 无机材料学报. 2009. 24(2): 335-339 : Y(NO3)3 + 3 NaOH → Y(OH)3↓ + 3 NaNO3 This gives yttrium(III) hydroxide as a white gelatinous precipitate, which can be dried to a white powder. Chemical properties Yttrium(III) hydroxide is an alkali, so it can react with acid: : Y(OH)3 + 3 HNO3 → Y(NO3)3 + 3 H2O : 2 Y(OH)3 + 3 H2SO4 → Y2(SO4)3 + 3 H2O The compound absorbs atmospheric carbon dioxide Carbon dioxide is a chemical compound with the chemical formula . It is made up of molecules that each have one carbon atom covalent bond, covalently double bonded to two oxygen atoms. It is found in a gas state at room temperature and at norma .... Lanthanum(III) Hydroxide
Lanthanum hydroxide is , a hydroxide of the rare-earth element lanthanum. Synthesis Lanthanum hydroxide can be obtained by adding an alkali such as ammonia to aqueous solutions of lanthanum salts such as lanthanum nitrate. This produces a gel-like precipitate that can then be dried in air. : Alternatively, it can be produced by hydration reaction (addition of water) to lanthanum oxide. : Characteristics Lanthanum hydroxide does not react much with alkaline substances, however is slightly soluble in acidic solution. In temperatures above 330 °C it decomposes into lanthanum oxide hydroxide (LaOOH), which upon further heating decomposes into lanthanum oxide (): : \mathrm LaOOH :2 LaOOH \mathrm Lanthanum hydroxide crystallizes in the hexagonal crystal system. Each lanthanum ion in the crystal structure is surrounded by nine hydroxide ions in a tricapped trigonal prism The triaugmented triangular prism, in geometry, is a convex polyhedron with 14 equilateral triangl ...

Actinium Compounds
Actinium compounds are compounds containing the element actinium (Ac). Due to actinium's intense radioactivity, only a limited number of actinium compounds are known. These include: Actinium fluoride, AcF3, Actinium(III) chloride, AcCl3, Actinium(III) bromide, AcBr3, AcOF, AcOCl, AcOBr, Actinium(III) sulfide, Ac2S3, Actinium oxide, Ac2O3, Actinium(III) phosphate, AcPO4 and Actinium(III) nitrate, Ac(NO3)3. Except for AcPO4, they are all similar to the corresponding lanthanum compounds. They all contain actinium in the oxidation state +3.Actinium
Great Soviet Encyclopedia (in Russian)
In particular, the lattice constants of the analogous lanthanum and actinium compounds differ by only a few percent.
