Acid (Belgian Band)
Acid, which started as Precious Page, is a Belgian speed metal band from Bruges, formed in 1980. The band was one of the first bands in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal on the European mainland and their records have become collector's items in the metal genre. History Guitarist Demon, singer Kate de Lombaert and bassist T-Bone started the band as Precious Page, which was renamed Acid in 1980. Shortly after, Anvill joined as drummer. When Dizzy Lizzy joined the band as the second guitarist, the band recorded its first single. It was released in July 1982 under the name "Hell on Wheels" through Roadrunner Records. The first self-titled album followed in January 1983. The second album ''Maniac'' followed the same year, followed by the third album ''Engine Beast'' in 1985. Shortly after this, the band broke up. Motörhead
Motörhead () were an English rock music, rock band formed in London in 1975 by bassist and lead vocalist Lemmy Kilmister, guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Lucas Fox. Kilmister was the primary songwriter and only constant member. The band are often considered a precursor to the new wave of British heavy metal, which re-energised heavy metal music, heavy metal in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Girlschool are a British rock band that formed in the new wave of British heavy metal scene in 1978. Frequently associated with contemporaries Motörhead, they are the longest-running all-female rock band, still active after more than 40 years. Formed from a school band called Painted Lady, Girlschool enjoyed strong media exposure and commercial success in the UK in the early 1980s with three albums of " punk-tinged metal" and a few singles, but lost their momentum in the following years. Martin Popoff (born April 28, 1963) is a Canadian music journalist, critic and author. He is mainly known for writing about heavy metal music. The senior editor and co-founder of '' Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles'', he has written over twenty books that both critically evaluate heavy metal and document its history. He has been called "heavy metal's most widely recognized journalist" by his publisher.
